  1. So you're hooking the motion sensor output to the yellow (sense 1) wire and setting the mode on the Micro Module to Dual Momentary. You're not hooking anything to the Sense 2 wire. I see what you're doing. With the motion output "pressing" the on momentary button (sense 1) it turns on the light but since there's nothing to "press" the off momentary button it doesn't turn it off. I also see the issue because once motion is detected, it holds the Sense 1 line high (holds the on button on) until the 'motion not detected' timer times out and the Micro Module thinks it should go into 'set' mode after the button (sense) is held for 5 seconds. I'm not sure what you can do about that. The only way that I can think to 'fix' it is to add an 'One Shot' timer. OF course that may be as expensive as adding a second Micro Module.
  2. I'm sure that there are plenty of other sensors out there that will trigger the sense line of the Micro-Module, but the MS-180 is the only one I've had dealings with. I should have made that more clear in my earlier post.
  3. The only motion sensor that I've found that is truly a relay model is the Cooper MS-180. I have 4 of them hooked to Micro-Relays and they all work reliably. I have several different brands of MS's lying around that I've tried and the MS-180 is the only one that I can honestly say works all the time.
  4. After a little browsing I may have found a work around. Because Chrome is 32 bit apparently you need to manually install the 32 bit version of Java to get it to work in Chrome. I'll try it tonight when I get home. Here's a link to it.
  5. I have the same problem. IE works without issue and Chrome won't. I get the message that "this program needs permission to run" Even though I give it permission to run, it never does. I'm running 4.2.30 for both firmware and UI.
  6. most of those devices are only good for 104F so I'd say you stand a pretty good chance of killing them in an attic anywhere in the south and especially in Florida. I'd get them out of the attic as soon as possible. Put them in a closet or something.
  7. This is basically correct, but the coil (magnet) doesn't have to be 24v. You can get contactors with many different coil voltages. The Elk-9200 is a high load relay thats already wired with a plug so you could use an on/off module to energize it.
  8. It can be confusing, but I always use the following rule when determining normal state. Normal state, as it relates to switches, is with no external influence. In this case, without the magnet. Also if you'll notice even on the smarthome page they list it as N.O. contact for N.C. circuits.
  9. My first post here and it had to be this. I have several micro modules hooked to motion sensors in order to have all the lights come on when one senses motion. There are several ways to wire a manual switch into the circuit depending on what you want it to do. When I started out I bought some lights with Dual-Brite motion sensors and didn't think anything about it. After reading about them I figured that once the dual-brite sensor kicked on high the micro module sense would pick it up and activate. I was wrong. Nothing I tried would make the micro module sense the dual-brite signal. I think it's more the way the dual-brite works than anything with the micro module. I finally bought some standard (non dual-brite) MS-180 motion sensors from Amazon and replaced the dual-brites with them and everything works flawlessly. The way I have mine wired is to have power all the time. I hook the module to power and sense 1 is hooked to the output of the motion sensor. That way any time it senses motion after dark it turns the light on. I also have programs written in the ISY994 that whenever one of the outside lights is turned on by motion the other outside lights turn on. and when the motion sensor times out and turns the light off, all the rest of the outside lights go off as well. In this scenario, if the outside lights turn on by motion I can turn one or all of them off through the ISY/Insteon network and when the motion sensor times out and re-senses motion they will all turn back on again. I can also turn any or all of them on through the ISY/Insteon network without them sensing motion.
