I still have a couple of these, but they are old Zwave 300 and I replaced them with Kasa light bulbs. I noticed that there are ZigBee Smart Light Bulb Sockets on the market. There even may be equivalent wifi devices. I also found these on the internet but $ 50 seems expensive and they are different from the ones I have.

I can't get it to authenticate so maybe you don't want to update
Smart suggestion..... This is probably my favorite nodeserver and it works, so I am leaving it alone for the time being.

I have seen the same for several weeks and now just ignore that update.

Nothing, other than return here and update if you find a way to make it work. Thanks for trying.
This isn't urgent, merely frustrating. And I could use Alexa; I have plenty of those devices around. I just chose to go with Alexa in my permanent home and GH in my temporary work home. For variety. And apparently, frustration.

It is interesting and frustrating at the same time how these things work differently. In IoX I was able to create programs that include announcements made on Alexa. With Home Assistant I have been unable to do the same with Alexa, but succeeded with Google Home, using a input_boolean helper.

There are built in specific dates, such as:
which would be true anytime during December THIS year.
So we might combine two schedules using AND to do something useful like turn on the Christmas decorations, but only during December
The problem with programs like these, is that they must be revised every year-- there is no method to enter a date WITHOUT the year in the built in date functions.
Note for date option to show, you much uncheck daily:
There's also a program that you can input once and run everyday to set a series of variables, that i've been using for a number of years... see this thread:
with this method it's possible to find thanksgiving.. the 4th Thursday of November, or other combinations.
As mentioned previously in this thread, there's also the date/time node server.
As previously mentioned, I use the Holidays Google calendar nodeserver. In your Google Calendar you can select any (and multiple) calendars of interest, including US holidays, Jewish, Muslim and even sport calendars. These can then be used in IoX programs in IF. Note that this nodeserver only acts on whole day events, which should not be an issue with holidays.

Just as a matter of interest...I have created a program that resets all my state variables used to trigger routines in my alexa speakers. It looks like this...
Program ResetSayVars (Enabled to Run at Startup]
if
$sSayVVVVV is not 0
OR
$sSayWWWW is not 0
OR
$sSayXXXXX is not 0
OR
$sSayYYYYY is not 0
Then
Wait 3 seconds
$sSayVVVVVVV = 0
$sSayWWWWWW = 0
$sSayXXXXXXX = 0
$sSayYYYYYYY = 0
Else
-----
Now when a program uses a $sSay variable the wait and reset to 0 is done automatically to reduce line usage in every programmed usage of vocals. This simplifies the number of lines and look of many programs and makes them easier to read. Of course I have a bank of about 20 State variables (with more meaningful variable names) reserved for this usage and the program involves every one in the If and Then sections of this program.
BTW: Alexa routines do not like to be hit on faster than every 20 seconds so programs that operate vocals too fast may get skipped over.Interesting, but I am not sure that I need this.
I have 4 Alexa voice routines that run as part of wake-up programs (*). The same IoX programs that set the relevant variable to 1, do set the variable back to 0 after a few minutes. Would I need your program as well ?
(*) these wake-up programs themelves are initiated by events in Google Calendar
-
I have a few Alexa routines that are triggered when a specific IoX variable is set to 1.
Earlier today I tried to do the same with GH, but no success (so far).
-
I do not have Insteon, so keep that in mind
However, it should not matter if you go through IoX and ISY Portal account. Others may chime in.
While I have both Google Home and Alexa, so far I have only implemented Alexa routines.

I have a scene "Good Night" that turns off all of my lights downstairs (25 lights/devices) when I go upstairs to bed. It is also part of a timed program to all go off at midnight. When I have company sleeping in my guest room in the basement, I want to create a variable called "Sleeping Guests" and, when that variable is set to 1, I want the Good Night scene to do everything EXCEPT 2 of the lights for the hallways - meaning the "Good Night" scene will only control 23 lights/devices.
Does anyone know of an easy way to do this without having to create a new scene and replacing it in the program at midnight? Thanks.
One way is to create a program without IF and in THEN set variable X to 1, ELSE set variable X to 0. When you have guests you run THEN and when guests leave you run ELSE.
In my case, I have a few programs that act on a condition in my Google calendar (using Holidays Google Nodeserver) . In your situation you would create a calendar named " Guests" and in that calendar you would create an all-day event on the days that you have guests. In the Administrative Console, IF Guests Calendar is True THEN Variable X = 1
There are other possibilities.

I have seen two different issues.
Initially after migrating to eisy, it happened a few times that eisy would not recognize the Zwave usb. Usually this was resolved after a eisy power cycle. Fortunately I have not had this issue for quite some time now.
The other issue that I have seen, including recently, is that after a reboot some Zwave devices show empty in the Administrative Console and then also do not react on a program command. When I click on Query or ON or OFF on these devices, they come back.

No.

Same as me. I have not had this issue in a while and I don't remember how it was resolved. Sorry not to be helpful. I am sure that UD will follow up on your ticket and get this resolved.

I have had all my Z-Wave devices become unreachable and the only way to get them back is to reboot eisy and after the reboot Z-Wave is operational again for days until it happens again. I have submitted a ticket and just wanted to post here to see if anybody else has experienced any similar issues.
Are you on Polisy/Zooz/ZMatter or eisy ? I have had this a few times in the past but not lately. What version are you on ?

Hey - I love the ISY/IOX platform! I've championed it for years and run it everywhere.
Yes, it's totally reasonable that they are EOL a device and I never had a problem with that. In fact, it was the trigger for me to consider what seemed like their "next gen" that I wanted to get on board with - the eISY.
Right now, all clients are on ISY994i - none on anything later as it did/does all that is needed. If there was ongoing/eternal support for the ISY994i (unrealistic), I'd just be a happy clam keeping everything working the way it has been for years.
So I can either just stay with what I have (ISY994i), hope they don't break and/or I can find used ones to stock pile or try to migrate and if I am, I would prefer to "jump" to the most current/future-proof offering.or you can go to Polisy without Zmatter board and just the Zooz 7 series dongle.

@asbril Like all tech, z-wave has it's strengths and weaknesses. I'm glad z-wave is working well for you and I should have been more precise in my comments. Insteon is without a doubt the best solution for DIY lighting control. Outside of that z-wave and other technologies are better suited.
Your comment about the stability of Insteon the company is also another important consideration and one I agree with. But until they either go away for good or another technology becomes available that is better suited to lighting control, I'll have to continue to use and recommend Insteon in combination with a UD controller for rock solid lighting control.
Like you I have personally and in clients homes a combination of technologies. Without a doubt the homes that give me the least amount of support issues are the ones that use primarily Insteon. The homes that I used z-wave in are the most troublesome. From the more mundane issues like the pop-corn effect in lighting groups to the more complex when adding a new switch causes the whole system to need TLC because the manufacturer changed the firmware and now it's a series 700 on a 500 system that has no S2 support and the devices firmware now has a different feature set that causes it to be non-operational with other older switches from the same manufacturer.
For door locks and relays z-wave is awesome, well maybe not awesome, but there are often multiple vendors with solutions for these needs. Insteon has none.
I think there is a place for both Insteon and z-wave, as well as matter, zigbee, and even plain old wi-fi devices(my least favorite) in any automated home. Most of us are partisan to our existing setup. The real question is what would we recommend to someone starting from zero.

@gduprey I encourage you to try other platforms, but I will warn you they all have the same or similar issues with z-wave. z-wave is the problem, not the controller. Unlike Insteon combined with a ISY994i on which we all got spoiled because UD spent the time to reverse engineer the protocol on each and every Insteon device released; z-wave is a nightmare. Even z-wave manufactures of which there are many don't follow their own standards from device to device, making the word standards an oxymoron.
UD has already sorted out a few of the issues with z-wave on their eisy platform and from experience I can say with 150% confidence that over time the eisy will become a rock soil platform for most z-wave devices. In the mean time like I said, try a few others out and let us know what you find.
Maybe there is a better mouse trap, I personally haven't found it yet and with Matter coming on the scene it's only going to make what is already a crazy space even more convoluted. This is an ongoing debate and the concensus in this forum is that Insteon is better than Zwave. I don't dispute this from a technical view point, but as someone who ditched Insteon 9 years ago to switch to Zwave, I disagree that "zwave is a nightmare" . It has its issues but there are many more products and my system works well. We have seen what happened to Insteon recently and we still have to see whether the new ownership will succeed, though I wish it all the success of the world.

(1) All tech products have a eol and not surprising that it now happens to isy994i
(2) Polisy is still being serviced for time being and upgrade to eisy or ZMatter on Polisy is not (yet) required .
(3) Is it not commendable that UD gives us the option of a product with Matter compatibility as well as more power ?
If change from ZW to ZY is that big of an issue, then simply stay with Polisy without ZMatter.

My eisy does not crash frequently, but occasionally it does. My solution has been to put the eisy on a Kasa switch and then in Home Assistant, or directly in the Kasa App on my phone, I power cycle eisy.
It makes it easier and especially useful when traveling.

Did you click refresh store? It only automatically updates occasionally.
Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk
I did and in the store it shows that the ns was updated today. However in the dashboard there is no update message and even when I restart the ns anyway, it remains on 20. Not at all urgent for me, but just fyi.

I never said we shouldn't be able to restart a NS from the ISY. I leave that up to @bpwwer since he is the developer of that code, and I respect his thoughts. I merely pointed out the first thing to do is send a report to the author. Nothing we can do if the author is not responding, most of us have real jobs and do this on the side and occasionally go off line for extended periods as well.
- I am grateful to all developers of nodeservers. Most likely they have day jobs and other more important things to do. That is why I have been arguing that nodeservers should have an annual fee, so that developers are motivated to update their ns.
- I am sure that nodeservers may stop working for a variety of reasons, not necessarily because of the nodeserver itself, though sending the log to the developer makes good sense.
- I understand that we will soon have the option to remotely access PG3 and that may address part of the concern.
- Nevertheless, being able to create a program that restarts a nodeserver, when it stopped communicating with Polisy/eisy, would be very helpful.
Network/server error logging into MyQ service

This is not specific to the MyQ Nodeserver. Home Assistant has the same issue and apparently same with Homebridge. It appears that MyQ deliberately blocks 3rd party applications to connect. My assumption is that MyQ wants to develop/promote their own paid ecosystem.
