  1. The ISY is not aware of the manual links. No linking should be done manually. Turning On/Off either switch with a ISY Program statement Set Scene 'xxxx' On/Off would normally have both devices respond. Cannot be done with manual linking. Here is example of cross linking using Admin Console
  2. statay There are two 5.0.2 downloads. The first has ZWave and requires a PLM. The second has ZWave and runs without a PLM -- 2m1. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 994i Series including Z-Wave Support ISY 994i ZW, Z, or ZS Series (Z-Wave/Zigbee and/or if you do NOT have a PLM)
  3. 4.4.5 supports the Hidden Door Sensor as one node or two nodes. Just verified a v.43 Hidden Door Sensor works with two nodes.
  4. Is the same PLM being used by ISY as was used by HouseLinc
  5. There is no CANCEL button as that leaves necessary work undone. Look at all the nodes for a Green or Gray Icon with 1011 indicating pending activity is required. Suggest clicking Help | About. What is displayed for Firmware? What is displayed for UI (Admin Console)? They should be 4.3.26 or higher and be at the same level.
  6. I doubt Start Linking is in a loop. There is device activity that the ISY feels is necessary and will continue until complete. Cancelling the process only slows down completion. If you want to know what is actually happening run the event viewer at LEVEL 3. With your Insteon experience the event trace should not be difficult to understand.
  7. Would need to see an Event Trace to have more data. That many On messages often indicates the battery is low causing Motion Sensor to operate incorrectly. A Motion Sensor normally generates two On Group Broadcast messages and one On Group Cleanup Direct message for each Responder linked to Motion Sensor.
  8. Kevin Connolly Without actual trace data, it would indicate that the SwitchLinc is having difficulty communicating with the PLM. When removed from the ISY the SwitchLinc no longer has a Controller link with the PLM. All devices that can operate as a Controller are linked to the PLM when they are added to the ISY. This is required for the ISY (PLM) to know the status of the device. As jerlands already noted, the Hops Left count on comm to/from SwitchLinc to PLM is important to know.
  9. Great news! Thanks for the update.
  10. Sorry, I have never tried that. I would worry about manually changing XML. However, the risk versus reward is something only you can judge.
  11. Something else happened during the PLM change activity. The thermostat has 00.00.00 for PLM address. Whatever happened the ISY information is not correct, otherwise the Restore Devices would have resolved. Need to restore an ISY Backup taken before the PLM change activity. Then Restore Modem (PLM) followed by a Restore Devices.

  13. "Everything failed but #4 (the scene worked, but it is between a switch and an outlet; the ISY994i is a passive observer for that). No events logged. " The Switch should have sent a message to the PLM for this activity. Do a Show Device Links Table for the Switch and post.
  14. Click Help | About. What is displayed for Firmware and UI? What devices are coupling the two 120 volt legs? Device 2B.00.50 is not responding to three attempts to communicate with device.
  15. Click Help | About. What is displayed for Firmware and UI? What devices are coupling the two 120 volt legs?
  16. Should be no need to restore an ISY Backup. Run the Event Viewer while operating a device. Post the event trace. Confirm that Help | About shows same information for Firmware and UI.
  17. Run Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer at LEVEL 3. Run the New INSTEON Device process with Hidden Door Sensor in linking mode. Post the event trace. The Icon on the bottom of event viewer popup, next to last on right side copies event event trace to Clipboard. Paste into forum post. It sounds like the Hidden Door Sensor is not communicating with PLM. Are the two 120 volt legs coupled?
  18. Using an Insteon device outside of ISY (Hub in this case) and with ISY takes a detail knowledge of Insteon. Press and hold Hidden Door Sensor Set button (3-5 seconds) until it beeps. The Status LED will be flashing.
  19. Use New INSTEON Device to add battery device to ISY. Put Hidden Door Sensor into linking mode. Enter Insteon Address, Name of choice, and Auto Discover into New INSTEON Device popup.
  20. Was a Delete Modem (PLM) command issued? (should not be done) If a Delete Modem was done then an ISY Backup taken before the Delete was done must be restored before PLM and devices restored.
  21. Switching PLMs to test and going back is not good. Each device has link records that connect the device to the PLM (and therefore ISY). The lack of communication of manual device operation (On and Off) indicates the devices do not have the correct PLM information now. It would be good to have the actual error that was seen when the new PLM was queried. What PLM do you want to use now? Power down ISY and PLM. Connect PLM and power it. After 30 seconds power ISY. When ISY and Admin Console are fully up, run Restore Modem PLM. When that is finished run "Restore Devices" which will take some time. Any battery powered devices must be restored "one device at a time". Insure the last restored battery device is no longer in link mode before moving to the next battery device.
  22. Secondary KPL buttons must be turned On/Off with an Insteon Scene. This is a KPL requirement. I don'T use ELK. From an ISY Program it would be Then Set Scene "kplbuttonH" On or Off where "kplbuttonH" is a Responder

ScottAvery It would be helpful to know what button and configuration being changed as well as device firmware.
  24. Suggest running Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer at LEVEL 3. Use New INSTEON Device, enter device Insteon address, Name of your choice, and Auto Discover. That Insteon address FO.xx.xx looks like an invalid Insteon address. Is that the Insteon address stamped into frame of device?
  25. karwas Those suggestions would be best communicated to Smartlabs who designed and own the PLM. The PLM has always worked that way, at least for the many years I have been using them. For now make sure the Insteon network is quiet during the Show PLM Links Table.
