A way to notify us that there is an update in the app and what it fixes would be helpful. If we're having problems, we can view how many versions we're behind and what each one fixes. then a simple click to update would be great

Keeping DHCP as default is fine. Taking away the ability to configure static isn't.
-
I have a small segment for DHCP on my network. that DHCP segment is for workstations, laptops, phones and other things that come and go. And they get reclaimed and reused after the lease. I have reserved the upper portion of my /24 network for my hardware devices, cameras, consoles, surveillance cameras and so on. They are all static. I then ensure any necessary hardware things don't change. Using DHCP and reservations works. Yes, but you're not going to have happy customers here. People will move on. This is a competitive space and my 994 has been a rock solid solution. That's why I'm still here. I've got my eisy all mounted and ready to go but waiting because I have ~20 zwave devices including mounted Bali shades that I will need to migrate. I really don't want to take each shade down and move them over to the eisy to pair them to the new system and then set everything up again. I hear there will be a way to migrate zwave soon. I hope. If not, then maybe I stay on the isy and return my eisy, zwave/matter and cable until the bugs are worked out. I have about 50+ insteon devices and like I said about 20 zwave with 100 or so programs and variables. If there is a migration tool (maybe this is the backup/restore) that brings everything over including static IP, then it would be as simple as a backup, turn off the ISY, restore to eisy and test. Maybe the zwave pairing with the old board in the isy will make the zwave process not work. hopefully there is a workable solution. Waiting on the sidelines for now. Maybe this weekend I'll dedicate to trying to migrate this the first time.

Oh my gosh (I had a different word here). I finally found where to sign up for more info... This REALLY IS NOT EASY to find. For those who don't know... I had to go to the UDI site, then click on my account, log in with my ISY portal, (what happens if I don't have that?) and then check all the boxes. I was expecting a simple form to sign up to the newsletter. Anyway, I've checked ALL the boxes. For all of you telling me I'm not paying attention... I am now I guess. Oh, and I've been a customer/member since 2014

I've also wondered about this... I couldn't find out why there were color differences.

OP here... I'm extremely busy with work, family, home projects and other things. I'm a DevOps engineer and IT for many years. I follow TONS of rags and some things I can't 100% keep up with. I'm learning python, docker, ansible, kubernetes and other automation technologies for work and I'm 110% busy. I helped @simplextech test his integration years ago (I think I was the first) and discovered that the thermostat needed to be on Manual for it to work. It was fine till it got upgraded and I needed to set it up again. I did and then it got changed again and again (I'm not sure but I stopped banging my head). So, I figured set it on manual and go on my way. I've been checking the UD store for the "sold out" polisy's hoping that they would be in stock some time (about a year?) but there wasn't any news there that they were going away. Then they were taken off the site. I do get emails from UDI. But seems like there hasn't been much. Maybe sales[at]universal-devices.com isn't the right news list. https://www.universal-devices.com/insider-scoop/ doesn't have anything on it. For the past 10 minutes, I've been looking for a link to sign up for the emails people have been talking about without success. Nothing on their website I can find. So, I've got the website, the Wiki, and the forum. that's pretty much it. The https://polyglot.isy.io/ site doesn't allow logins (maybe broken for me) but I think it did earlier this week. I go to the forum when I need help... My inbox from universal devices... Check the dates on the right (I don't delete anything... LOL): I went to fix it because I'm between home renovation projects because of the upcoming holidays. I didn't know PGx was no longer for the ISY. I went to the polyglot store, I went to the wiki, I went in circles trying to figure out how to get it up and running again. I do have a Pi and maybe PG2 will work for me. I don't want to start that unless eisy is far away (which it sounds like it's very soon). I'm going to remind that I love the product and I have to wait now. That's fine. Just seems like the obvious places to look for news aren't working for me. When searching the forums, I find old irrelevant posts that seem to steer me in the wrong direction because of out dated products. I get it. There should be a post on the news and announcements saying that the Polisy will be replaced by eisy soon and why (make the post title obvious). Up until yesterday, there wasn't anything easily findable. I don't even see a signup link on the main website for news but since I'm getting emails, I figured I was on the right list. Maybe not so... Where do I sign up? So, that's why I posted... How do I get on the list to get a eisy? ...Less confused Ed

The UD Mobile app looks like it's gotten a lot of upgrades since I tried it last. Because I haven't been following how UD has been changing things, I'm a bit confused how to get this back up and running. It has Polyglot in the Admin dashboard with no explanation that it only works with Polisy. So, what you're saying is that there is no way to connect my ISY994i to a polyglot server online any longer. Right? And the only way to do so is by installing PG2 it on a Pi or Linux machine and going that route or buying the old Polisy (ha! I thought this would be the new device going forward. I was fooled) And I assume that since UD isn't selling the Polisy any longer, there won't be any development. I'll wait till you guys get the new eisy. I feel it would be better to create something that doesn't require UDI to produce hardware for. Something that can run in docker or K8s or just on a Pi. The Wiki and forum don't have an easy way to find that this functionality is just gone unless you use a Pi. Sorry, without the knowledge you guys have for years, finding stuff that's still relevant on UDI isn't easy. I'll go the Pi route. Sorry, I may sound frustrated because I am now. I love my ISY but it seems the documentation on where to go today isn't great. Don't let the bus run you over as you stumble in the road guys...

I've got my trusty ISY994 running (for like 10 years or so) and missed the "Polisy" purchase (since I think they are no longer building these) and want to get my NuHeat up and running again with my ISY. I guess Polisy isn't coming back so now what? (don't answer this without helping out below). But... the polyglot server v1, v2 seem to not work and V3 is just for the Polisy. So, I'm now totally confused on how to get this node server back up and running. I've searched and searched the forms and WIKI for instructions. It seems like it's now all in the UD Mobile app... Is that correct? I've setup my UD Mobile and went to Admin > Polyglot V3 and I get the error: LOCAL IP ADDRESS is not set for the system. System Name: Home. 500 If I can get help fixing this, will it let me get the Nuheat node server up and running again? If not, then what do I do? thanks, Ed

So this uses their IFTT service at wevolor.com (or where ever he has it)? And he asks for a donation. If his services goes away, they stop working. Right?

Ok. Reset the dimmer and then restored the device. That fixed it! All you guys are great!!! I guess I'm really lucky the two devices were right next to each other. The switch was right next to the door and the light for the switch was on the outside of the wall. I was wondering why those lights were randomly off when they should be on. Then yesterday, I went through the door and the light went on and off. I was like... What the hell is going on? Opened and closed the door and the light responded. Checked the ISY and there was no link. So, if there was some random INSTEON linking between any other two devices, I think I would have gone crazy trying to figure out what was going on. Is there a way to see the links between Insteon devices outside of the ISY without having a INSTEON Hub? Thanks again guys!!

I have an hidden door sensor that's been in place for years. Now, suddenly... whenever it's open, our outdoor garage lights turn on. When it's closed, they turn off. The only thing this is setup to do is to trigger a resource which sends me a push to pushover. I have around 100 programs (all organized of course by room) and I don't see any programs that are using it and the device shows that it's not a controller or responder. Ideas on how to track this down? I have no idea when it started. Sometime within the last few months. EddieRock

Yup. It's an admin interface. I do agree. As I said, I love the ISY but I do feel that tying other automated "things" together would be nice. Maybe I missed it but if I could have a single pane to know the state of some of my devices and other systems at a glance I feel it could be polished. I have a video surveillance system, some door locks, people moving around the house. Would like to know what the water temp of the lake or pool is at a glance. The wind... If a interface was available to modify and view other devices, the state of the door locks and some rooms and temps around the house. On a panel or tablet, I'd be happy. Now, I have to switch from my door locks app to my interface (notice I didn't use Admin) to view some status of my house and my door lock app to see if my doors are locked. The weather at a glance... I feel having all these as the source of truth and to have to open all these different apps is not ideal. Also, some times things don't fire properly on the ISY (and most other automation software/hardware). Maybe the microwave was on when the ISY set some lights or a solar flare occurred. Some lights may be off when they should be on. Seeing the state of the union in a simple pane would make me happy. That is my quest right now. Any ONVIF camera integration yet? I see that FosCam is available. But, if my door bell rings, I'd like to see who is at the door by looking at an app/panel/UI in my kitchen/living room instead of bouncing around in different apps. ...wishing I became a developer years back. Noted. Thanks!! Is there a single pane of glass that I can view my ISY, cloud node servers and local node servers today?

The integration for node servers is great. But... having the third party apps having to write special code seems frustrating to me and slow. If.... I setup Home Assistant to run the devices that are not supported out of the box with ISY, and I can connect with ISY with HA, then couldn't I use HA for my front end and control all my ISY native devices with it? I really don't want to support two home automation systems now. Don't get me wrong! I love the ISY. Hardware is rock solid. Support and community is awesome. But, things are moving fast and there is a LOT of new hardware and technology coming out fast. Seems like HA has a working bridge to the ISY now. I've been testing Agave for a week or two now. Works great but I can't see my node servers or control them. If I use HA and hook up my NuHeat into HA, then maybe there is more options for us. From the outside looking in, it sounds good but as we know... It may not be as good as it sounds until you try it and find the short comings. And, I really don't want a device that runs on a PI with a OS on a SD card. Seems like it could be a recipe for disaster. the ISY is solid so far.. Ed

Yah, I was a bit disappointed that HAD was dead. I had it running for years with no issues. I had forgotten that I was running it on an old linux VM and when I decided to decom it, HAD went with it. Since the documentation isn't really strait forward on how to set it up on a stand-alone box, I decided to go with Agave. It's fine and works pretty well, there is a cost with ISY to be mobile. Either in $$ or by frequent authentication. In my case, I had HAD on my network and there wasn't any auth. That was fine for me because my network's as secure as I can get it (lets not go there please). Anyway, I miss HAD. @carealtor I read that Home Assistant can connect to the ISY. Maybe I can run my ISY with HA's app. I'd hate to run two though. I like the ISY. It's ROCK SOLID. EddieRock @bmercier

I do not use Apple... Maybe this question is for @simplextech
-
So, if I do a delete and reinstall, do I have to setup everything again? @simplextech
-
I'll check this on mine as well but I can assume it will behave the same. I had found that there is a max setting on the TStat and I set mine to 85F. Just to be safe. But... I get it! If the temp keeps rising for some strange reason, an alert will get your attention and you can investigate.

Original poster here. .. I want to follow up on the status. I've had the NuHeat Thermostat up and running with the built in schedules first (while @simplextech worked on the node server). It runs awesome. This thermostat is simply beautiful. Very high end. The on screen weather is really nice. When I wake up and enter the bath, it shows me the weather and the whole day forecast. It hasn't skipped a beat. When @simplextech got the node server running, I installed and set my schedules on the ISY. It's run 100% perfect. To ensure it's setting the temp correctly, I've configured notifications to my cell phone and 4 times a day, it sets the temp and sends me the current temp and what it just set itself to. 100%! I should also note... When I set the temp. To be sure it gets set, I send the temp in my program, wait 1 minute and send it again. then wait 1 minute and send my email notification. Works! Thank you very much @simplextech for your work here! You guys looking for in-floor heat thermostats. Get this one! and run the node server. EddieRock

Thank you! Do you have a model number for the thermostat? I'd like to get the right one out of the gate instead of a $200 upgrade later I could be Beta #1 for you guys

I'm installing a simple in floor heat mat and thermostat in our bathroom. I'd like to get a tstat that I can control with my ISY. I've got 4 Insteon tstats for our boiler to heat our house and would like to know what I can use for in floor heating. The systems I've been looking at have a temp probe that gets installed with the mat and I believe that connects to the tstat so we can simply "Warm" the floor. We're not looking to heat the room. just warm the floor. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've seen Suntouch, Aube, OK Microline and a few other brands I didn't recognize. Does ISY talk to any of these or a Honeywell? Gotta buy one in the next few days... Thanks in advance
