  1. I too would upgrade the 994iZ model and start selling them instead of 99i. I have bought the Morninglinc solution for locks as a test and it was incredible to have them auto lock the doors after arming/night, a real selling feature. This feature has been great but I have had issues with the door not locking. Locks were installed in winter and when summer came that slight seal difference misaligned the door just enough that the lock would not through. I have become so dependant on the house locking by it self that I didn’t notice this problem. This left the house unlocked for at least a month. If this was a customer the repercussion could be huge. I mostly install the Elk systems with ISY/insteon but having to retrofit a plunger in the door jamb to insure the lock is secure in an completed customer’s house is unrealistic. A two way insteon solution would be the best but morning locks are not quite as attractive as the Kwicksets. Door locking is one of those things that has to work %100 and the Morninglinc is great it is really only for the individual user and not as a retrofit reseller. Jim
  2. I have an ISY 99ir pro in my own house for about approximately 5 years (I think it has been that long). I am selling my parents house and I am installing insteon switches in the house to solve some poor switch locations and wiring problems. The question I have is should I take my old ISY and put it in the house I am selling as I can then upgrade to the latest version. I am not sure if the original ISYs are an old work horses or the new ones have better longevity. I know they will function the same but it does reset the life clock to zero. If I don’t put the new one in should I at least switch out the PLM so I can get the new duel band version. My system has hundred of switches and scenes. I have been wanting to flog my older switches that I can't turn off the led's for awhile. I also have a few purchased plug ins. Can I port them over to the new ISY? Thanks Jim
  3. Thank you polexian I now will be upgrading, buying module and reprogramming this weekend Jim
  4. I am curious before I upgrade it with the new module. Will have a choice as to what scenes/devices the ISY exports to the elk panel. My system has well over a hundered devices with multiple keypads. I have hundreds of scences that reach the 256 limit. The trouble is this leaves out scences that I want to control from the elk. The 256 limit is more then enough for me if I could decide what scences were priority to be exported. Jim
  5. No just slave link and in a all on/all off scene. I have had something similar with the ezio 8. If I add any new devices it always finds the ezio in scences that it does not belong. I have to remove it after adding new hardware. I plan on not using the ezio after the elk module comes out. It is being used as a place holder. It took up 8 of the 256 devices max and we can't select the 8 I want to use until the module. To many devices and scences. Jim
  6. It seems like I am having trouble when I restore devices as well. The problems began when I restored a couple of the devices on my system. FYI to help look for problem. I factory reset my switch and ghost lighting stopped. I restored from isy and it came back. I looked and compared link table and all were identical. I added the device again to the system by auto linking and told it to leave all links. It found more links in 10 scences that it was not in before. I believe that this is why it was turning on and off. I hope this helps Jim
  7. Thanks everyone for the help with the WOL issue, I love that we are all helping Michael with some of the requested answers in this form, your answers were spot on. I think I have found a bug, when I click on the floor plan button it does not bring up the floor plan but instead expands the device menu tree. The floor plan was not something I was using (clicked on it by mistake). Cleared java reloaded and still the same. I do have another issue that has come up after the install of 316 and is still happening through 317, 319. I was getting a weird response from a couple of switches and I checked the device link table and found some record mismatches. I restored the switches to solve the problem and I am now getting the switch ghost lighting on and off multiple times. I of course, factory reset the switch and restored the device again but the problem persists. Furthermore I have two scenes that have started turning on and off by themselves. I looked on the log and it says that the "system" is turning them on and off, but I don’t know why. How can I find out what program/event is turning them on and off? Seems to be only happening to switches I restored or adjusted scene info. FYI: Cleared Java no help. I did a find/replace to see all programs they were in and I found nothing that was out of place. I do have an elk system running with ISY and I was thinking that it might be that, the lights would turn on right after Elk motion turned on hall lights. I unplugged the network on the Elk and the same problem persists just not so closely timed to commands from Elk, now just random 100 plus devices of all makes but no thermostat (been waiting to see them get it working right) System has some 7 year old switches to 1 month old Jim Edit: I tried adding and removing a new kedpad. (forgot to make it 8 button before adding) When I went to remove it, it would only remove each button at a time, not the whole switch. I had to remove a,b,c,d,1
  8. I am having trouble adding items to wake on lan. It says "Invalid mac address format. Valid values are A-F, 0 to 9 seperated by a -" I used to be able to add them by copy/paste from router with the ":" but even when I try the - it will not let me add or adjust the ones I have. Jim
  9. I have been having the same double log in as described in this thread but mine is not intermittent. It has been doing it for over 1 year and just seemed to start one day. I have just put up with it as I don’t log in as much as I used to. However now with your confounded commitment to your customers by adding new great features like variables I have started reprogramming. With the promise of the Elk Module on the horizon I will have allot of logins to do. I am just writing to say that the only address that worked without the second login is the ones with the “.jnlp†at the end of it. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. P.S. I will gladly prepay for the Elk module if you get it done next Jim
  10. I was just wondering if on a ETA of a way to send notifications to separate accounts. I would like one key pad button to send a "Call home soon" Email/text message to “person A†and a separate button to send one to “person Bâ€. I am using it in many ways. Call home soon Timmy is home High water Flood alert Garage door left open Low temp House cleaner arrive and leave times and so many more. In one location it replaces a basic alarm by sending alerts if any movement or switch is turned on while at work/vacation. It would be nice to have system notifications only sent to one account. The “notify all†instead of individual account is limiting. I have a few customers that would really like this option. It would open up what the ISY can do for me and it will help me sell the ISY on every system. An ETA would be appreciated so that I can inform my customers of a rough time. Jim Baypointe
  11. I recently upgraded from 2.6.8 to 2.6.13 and discovered an issue. In the all off scene (and others), the window where I can set the Ramp Rate/On Level their is a large space right in the middle of the list of items. I would have to scroll down pages to finally see the remaining devices. In other scenes just the on level will be missing or the ramp rate. The device will be there on some of the control items and missing on others or the main list. I have the 99 IR pro My system has 76 devices I cleared Java and it shows up on XP and Vista computer.
