  1. Hi Brian H - Here's an update. The I/O Linc was able to communicate with the ISY when I relocated it next to the ISY but not when I moved it further away. I thought this indicated a noise problem; however, a friend had an extra I/O Linc that he loaned me. I connected the new I/O Linc at the original location and it successfully connected to the ISY!!! Good news for me...but bad news for my friend because I refused to return the I/O Linc that he loaned me. (I bought him a new one). Thanks again for your help. -Jack1902
  2. Hi Brian H - Thanks for replying. Below is Event Viewer in Level 3. I don't see anything remarkable. Am I missing something? Anything helpful?
  3. Thanks again, MrBill. I'll let you know how I make out.
  4. Hi MrBill - Thanks very much for your reply. When I selected query, the following dialogue box opened; however, the crawl didn't reach 100%. It only reached 89% then blinked out. I repeated this step several times, all with the same result. I then closed the Admin Console and reopened it, and received the same communication error. Regarding your second point about a possible phase issue, I've had this I/O Linc properly operating a water valve for several years until this communication error started appearing. Thanks again and I would appreciate any further ideas. - Jack 1902
  5. I have an I/O Linc controlled by an ISY 994i ZW. When I recently opened the ISY Admin Console, I received the following error message. Any suggestions? Thanks very much for your help.
  6. Thanks very much for your replies. Firmware 5.0.16 (2020-01-25) UI 4.7.5 (2020-01-27) What do you suggest?
  7. After accessing my Admin Console, I was surprised that none of my programs are listed. All of my devices are listed under Main and their current states are correct. However, when I click on Programs, I get an error message "Not Implemented." I tried unplugging the ISY but same result. How should I restore the programs? Under File, should I restore ISY or Restore Devices? I would appreciate some suggestions? Thanks very much. Jack1902
  8. To Techman and larryllix: Thanks very much for taking the time to reply.
  9. Hi Bumbershoot - Thank you VERY much for your reply. If I may ask a follow-up question: I interpret your reply to my second question to mean that I do not have to download Java. Is this correct? Thanks again, Jack1902
  10. My ISY994iZW is connected to a Sony Vaio Windows 10 PC. I'm getting a new Dell Windows 10 PC. 1. Will I be able to access the Admin Console from both PCs? Both PCs will be connected to the same network as the ISY. 2. I've read the ISY-994i Home Automation Cookbook on "Connecting to the ISY from a Local PC". It recommends Internet Explorer or Firefox for running Java . Which is the preferred browser? 3. Any little tricks or traps I should be aware of? Thanks very much for your help. - Jack1902
  11. I have two homes. Presently, only one has an ISY, which I use for leak detection and lights. I access it remotely through MobiLinc Connect and the app on my iPhone. I want to add a new ISY to my second home for similar devices and, again use MobiLinc Connect to operate those devices using my cell phone. Can I access the Admin Console for the new ISY from two pc’s (one pc on-site at the new home and the other pc remotely from my pc at the old house)?

    Two Houses

I currently subscribe to MobiLinc Connect in order to monitor and operate the devices (leak sensors and shutoff valve, and lights) in my current house using my iPhone. When I install the new ISY in the second home, I will also want the capability to monitor and operate the new devices using my iPhone. My current plan to purchase MobiLinc Connect on the new ISY. If I do, I understand that I will not be able to use the ISY portal to access the new ISY from multiple computers because MobiLinc Connect and the ISY portal are mutually exclusive. Any reason why can't use these directions to access my new ISY on a second, remote computer using Admin Console through MobiLinc Connect: 1. From a PC or a MAC computer open a web browser and go to: https://admin.mobilincconnect.com/isy/0021b9022bcd 2. If prompted, please accept the certificate warning in the browser. 3. If your ISY is actively connected to MobiLinc Connect you will get the familiar Admin Console login screen. Please login using your MobiLinc Connect email address for the username and your MobiLinc Connect password as the password. (Not sure of this because Admin Console now has its own user ID and password. 4. Upon login the Admin Console may warn of using the default SSL cert. Please dismiss this warning by clicking on the X. Do not select either option presented. Simply dismiss the warning. NOTE 1: If your ISY is not currently connected to MobiLinc Connect, Admin Console will display an XML parse error instead. Please check the ISY to verify it is connected to the internet, reboot the ISY, and reboot your router. NOTE 2: Please do not use the 'notes' feature of the Admin Console while connecting through MobiLinc Connect. There is a known issue with this Admin Console feature when talking through a portal service like MobiLinc Connect instead of a direct local connection.

Hi mwester. Thanks very much for the clarification.

    Two Houses

Hi Brian and paulbates - Thanks very much for your replies. It seems that you've given conflicting answers: Brian writing that I only need a PLM and paulbates writing that I need a second ISY. I intend to use Insteon leak sensors, relays and I/O link to a shut off valve. Can I have an Insteon PLM in the new house connected to a router that then communicates over the internet to the ISY in the old house?

    Two Houses

I have an ISY994i ZW in one home, which I use for leak detection, lights and other stuff. I want to install similar stuff in a second home. Do I need a second ISY in the second home? I think so unless someone has a idea. If I do need a second PLM and second ISY in the second home, is it possible to program the new ISY from two computers, one of which will be offsite?
