Thanks Dennis! That did the trick. I don't know why I didn't just do that to begin with. Just goes to show that you start with the simplest things first. Thanks again!

Opened the ISY admin console to make a couple of changes and got a message that Java had an update. Did the update and tried to launch the admin console and got two "Not Found" error messages. A quick search on here revealed that I needed to download the latest IoX Launcher, so I did that, deleted the old files and cleared the Java cache. I was able to launch the admin console, but now it's constantly displaying a System Busy window. The progress bar keeps moving, but when it reaches the end. it starts all over again. What am I missing?

I was an X10 / Ocelot user years ago before I switched to Insteon. I just recently swapped out my first generation Insteon keypads for current versions. Maybe they'll have a more reliable PLM when I'm ready to buy another (a guy can hope, can't he?).
-
Well, I restored the PLM and it seems to be working again. Time will tell...
-
Yes, I can open Mobilinc and issue a command and it shows up on the event viewer. Any harm in doing a PLM restore?
-
Oh yeah, most of my 1900 square foot house is on Insteon. I’ve got about 30 devices, 20 programs, and a modest number of scenes. I’ve been using Insteon and ISY’s for over 10 years. I’m on my second ISY and I replaced my PLM a few years ago.

As I stated above, the PLM table appears to be empty. BTW, are you a Simplex (Johnson Controls) fire alarm tech?
-
It’s connected. Besides physically checking the connection, I can issue commands from the ISY, but it won’t receive any.
-
If I click on "Show PLM links table", the window that pops up is empty. Would it hurt to try a PLM restore?

My ISY does not appear to be receiving information from any of the field devices. It seems to transmit just fine (sunrise/sunset programs, etc.). I can issue commands from Mobilinc and the computer and they work fine, however neither Mobilinc nor the computer will display the correct status UNLESS the command is issued from Mobilinc or the computer. Anything that requires receiving feedback or commands (programs) from a wall switch or keypad does not work. I have removed and re-applied power to the ISY and the PLM without any change in symptoms. Is this indicative of a PLM problem, or ??? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot further? I replaced the PLM just a few years ago (v2.1). David

Well, I feel kinda stupid. I just did a PLM restore and everything seems to be ok now. Don't know why I didn't think of that before, but it seems to have done the trick.

Turning a device on or off via the admin console will properly control the device and report the correct status. I get the same proper results using MobiLinc. If I use an Insteon wall switch to turn on a lamp, the lamp will turn on, but the status on the admin console and MobiLinc is incorrect.
-
Just got home and I was wrong about the admin console. The status on the admin console is NOT correct. If I query a device, it will correct the status. Have I got a setting that's gone awry?
-
I sent a message via the MobiLinc website as well. Hopefully, he'll respond soon.
-
I did a complete re-sync on MobiLinc ("download all"), but it still doesn't show the correct device status.
-
Correct. The devices are controllable via the admin console and update correctly.

We had a power outage this past weekend and when the power came back on, I had a couple of first generation Insteon keypads that required a reset to get them functioning again. My MobiLinc app isn't working quite right either. I am able to control devices and scenes, but the device status doesn't appear correct on MobiLinc. After the power outage, I reset the ISY 994i by removing power from it and the PLM for several seconds to make sure I had a clean boot. Any ideas what might be going on with MobiLinc? Obviously, I'm inclined to think it's something with the ISY or the PLM since the issue started with the power outage.

I have replaced most of the lamps in my house with the Cree LED's from Home Depot and haven't had any problems with any of them. I have mostly 60 watt equiv., but have a few 100 watt as well. I DID try one of the cheaper all plastic Cree lamps and returned it immediately as it didn't play nice with Insteon. The nicer ones with the metal heat sink and glass globe have been perfect.

That's how I was running the new ISY at first. I had it powered by the 2412. When I got the new 2413, I connected the external power supply that came with the new ISY. I contacted UDI via email about my problem. Michel responded within minutes. The customer service with Universal Devices is incredible. There are many other companies out there that could learn from their example! I will get an RMA and have the unit replaced as it appears to be defective. I have the old unit pressed back into service until I get a replacement for the new one. I can't access it from outside the house, but at least my programs will run.
-
Nope. Still in safe mode. Just for giggles, I pulled out the old ISY99 and 2412 PLM and plugged them in. Guess what? They work. Common denominator here is the new ISY994i.
-
Just ran diagnostics on the ISY and it says the PLM is not connected. I've rebooted everything several times and even changed the cable between the ISY and the PLM, and still no joy. Could my new ISY have crapped out?
-
Well, I received my new PLM today, connected it as per the "how to" in the Wiki, and I'm getting the same error as before. When I log onto the ISY, it comes up in "Safe Mode". What do I do now?
-
Gotcha. I have the power supply that came with the new ISY and will use that with the new PLM. Sounds like it wouldn't help with the current situation though.
-
Got it. Thanks Brian.

@Stu FWIW, my ISY is still getting power from the PLM (ISY power light is on). Would plugging in the supplied external power supply make any difference?
