Got it. Many thanks for the clarification! I'm going to keep hacking away on this and see if I can get the Harmony 900 to work with the ISY and IRlinc.
-
Oh.. I thought I could use the IRlinc from Smarthome and there was a way to just load in the default codes from that. I guess I am mistaken. Thanks.

At the risk of sounding silly.... how do I install it? (Also, thanks for the quick reply!)

Hi Guys, My Harmony 890 broke and I had to get the Harmony 900. I'm trying to set it up and it seems some things changed with regards to the lighting controller. I think previously I had setup the IRlinc using NEC codes, so that commands like "10", "11", etc, would fire off a program. Now, however, the Harmony software actually detects the 2411R and no longer gives me options like "10", "11", etc, but instead mimics the buttons found on the IRlinc (Scene A on/off, Scene B on/off). I can totally switch around my programming to accommodate those buttons... unless someone has an easy suggestion for what I enter in the Logitech software to get the old programs to work? My problem is that after reading the forums, there is apparently a way to add the 40 default codes to the ISY... (Wiki Reference: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... R_Tutorial) I'm supposed to be able to go to the Configuration tab, find the IR sub-tab, and then find an import button. The problem is that on my Configuration tab, I do not have an "IR sub-tab". My only tabs are "System" and "Emails/Notifications". I am running version 3.1.17. Any idea why I'm not seeing this IR sub-tab? Thanks!

Hi Guys, First off, let me say that it's totally possible I haven't done programming in my ISY in a long time (b/c everything works so well) so there may be things that have been upgraded/added to the software that I'm unfamiliar with. Or, my memory has gotten so bad that the functionality has been this way for so long and that is a whole other issue! I have a program for Halloween that sort of 'haunts' the lights in my house. It basically makes them dim & brighten... The main program that controls them looks like this: IF Control 'Kitchen Main - C' is switched on Or Time is 7:30:00pm Or Time is 8:00:00pm Or Time is 8:30:00pm Or Time is 9:00:00pm Or Time is 9:30:00pm Or Time is 10:00:00pm Or Time is 10:30:00pm THEN Set Scene 'Halloween Default' On (This establishes the starting light values) Wait 10 seconds Run Program 'Ghost - Bar' (Then Path) Wait 7 seconds Run Program 'Ghost - Kitchen' (Then Path) Wait 7 seconds Run Program 'Ghost - Main Floor Hallway' (Then Path) Wait 7 seconds Run Program 'Ghost - Lounge' (Then Path) Wait 10 seconds Set Scene 'Halloween Default' On ELSE No Actions As you can see in addition to the timings, "Kitchen Main - C", which is a button on my KPL, is also a trigger that can start everything. So, what I wanted to do was add one more row to the bottom of the 'Then' path that would tell the program to turn OFF "Kitchen Main - C". (This way it's ready to be turned back on again.) I thought this would be easy because I'd just set "Kitchen Main - C" to Off. But, the drop-down menu in the Action window has options like: On 0 / Off 0 (Backlight Level) On 0 / Off 1 (Backlight Level) On 0 / Off 2 (Backlight Level) Etc. Etc. I have no idea what all these options are, and 'off' is not an option in the list. Can someone please explain what these menu options are all about and if there is a way to turn off that KPL link when the program finishes running? Also, if anyone has any feedback on how to improve the efficiency of the program so it just runs every 30 minutes between hour X and hour Y, I'd love to hear it. I'm always trying to get better at my ISY programming! Thanks in advance... and sorry if this is a silly question to be asking.[/code]

I just upgraded to 2.7.15 and the process went very smoothly. I just have one quick question (...so far...): With regards to thermostats, I read this: Where am I supposed to see all these nodes? Right now under "My Lighting", I have a device named "Thermostat" (2441V INSTEON Thermostat Adapter v.28). But, this is the exact same thing I had on older versions, so I don't see any change. Am I missing something somewhere? I did follow the instructions and UNLINK the thermostat and then added it back in while it was 'off'. Thanks in advance for your help... and keep up the great work!

Hi Michel, I’ll try everything since I’d rather not RMA it if I don’t have to. =) I tried doing “Restore Devices†and it failed. So, I removed the DEN switch from the ISY and then performed a factory reset. After that I re-linked it. All of that worked properly. I ran a few commands (turn on, turn off) and the switch was responsive. Then I tried to run one of my programs that increases the light to 20%, waits 10 seconds, and then increases it to 50%. It successfully changed the light to 20%, but then stopped. At this point the ISY kicked back the communication error. When I did this test, all of my home theater equipment was _off_ (although still plugged in). This evening I’ll take a look at the actual wiring of the switch because I didn’t get a chance to do that yesterday. If you have any other ideas, please let me know and I’ll try them as well! Thanks for your help! Cheers!

Hi Michel, I currently do not have any FilterLincs. This morning I unplugged all of my home theater equipment and did some tests. Unfortunately, the switch was still not responsive via the ISY. It’s also worth noting that the home theater setup has not changed at all and a few weeks ago this switch was working perfectly. So, I’m not really sure it’s interference from the home theater equipment, since I suspect it would have been producing problems for a long time now. Later today I’ll try looking at the wiring on the switch to see if someone might have come loose. I’d be a bit surprised if a wire did actually come loose, but I guess it could have happened. Is it possible the actual switch is defective? It’s still under warranty with SmartHome, so I can easily RMA it. Thanks for your help… it is greatly appreciated! Cheers!

Hi Michael, Thank you for the prompt reply! I went through the logs (after applying the filer you suggested) and found all the instances where the DEN switch produced an error. I could not really find any sort of pattern. The only thing I could really infer from the logs is that it prints a message every time I run a program that impacts the DEN light. (For example, on my Harmony remote, I have a function for ‘enter theater’ that dims the lights. It looks like each I’ve done that over the past few days it has been logged.) I have a ton of Insteon devices in my house and this is the only one that seems to be having a problem. While I do have my home theater equipment in the den, it’s not really that close to the switch. And, the Den switch is only a few feet away from the kitchen switches, which have never produced an error. I’m totally up for trying anything you think may fix this since I really just want it to work. (After all, clicking ‘enter theater’ and having all the other lights in the house turn off except for the room where you’re watching TV is slightly less than cool; hehe). Cheers!

Hello All, Recently from within the Administrative Control of the ISY, I have started getting this error: -- Cannot Communicate With Den (E 54 D7 1). Please check connections. -- It seems that sometimes the lights in my den respond to ISY programs and other times they do not. I'm just wondering if this is a sign that the switch is defective (and I need to RMA) or if there is something else I can do to try to bring this back to life? As always, I appreciate any and all input. Cheers!

Wow… I love things that are “easy peasyâ€! They’re my favorite! I’m so glad I asked for help. Thanks so much. I’ll try it out ASAP! Cheers!

Hello All, I am trying to right a new program using a motion sensor and I’m a bit stuck. So, I figured I would cry out for help to the experts in this forum for a push in the right direction. I’m sure what I’m trying to do can be accomplished, but I must be overlooking something important because I can’t get it to work. -- Basically, my fiancée and I use the garage door exit whenever we leave/arrive home. The problem is that right now when we come in that side door and all the lights are off, it is incredibly dark. I’ve put a motion sensor above the door (on the ceiling) facing down towards the door. This way as soon as the door is opened, the motion sensor is triggered and I run a program named “Welcome Home†that turns on the lights. All of that works great! The issue is that by that side door I have a 6-button keypad with the master on/off switch tied to a program that puts the entire house to sleep. So, whenever we leave, we press ‘off’ and all the lights in the house turn off. So, where I’m stuck is this… We’ll press the “off†button which runs a program to turn off all the lights. Then we’ll open that side door to leave, which triggers the motion and runs a program that turns on the lights to welcome us home. What I really need to do is to be able to say “If that ‘off’ button is pressed, ignore any new commands for 5 minutesâ€, this way we have time to leave and the motion sensor trigger will be ignored. But, I have no idea how to do that or if it can be done. I thought about doing something like “If ‘House Sleep = true’ then don’t run the motion sensor program. The issue is that when we actually come home and open the door, that program is still true, but at that point we want the motion sensor program to run. I hope that makes sense. Does anyone have any ideas? I greatly appreciate any and all help…and I’ll try anything! Cheers!

I just did a factory reset of the IRLinc and then started the process from the beginning. I think I have the credit card remote working! I still need to do some additional testing, but for the first time I'm seeing positive signs! In case anyone else is having this same problem, here is how I did the reset:

Hi Michael, Thanks for the reply! I tried everything I could think of to get this working and I just can’t seem to get it to click. I decided to give it one more go ‘from the top’ (so to speak) before heading to bed. Here is what I did: - Removed the IRLinc from “My Lightingâ€. (This way I had a clean slate.) - Went to Link Management > New Insteon Device - Typed in the address (0F.59.57) and selected the type as 2411R. (The device appeared to add successfully.) - Went to Link Management > Add Button to IRLinc Receiver - Using the credit card remote, pressed the “To Scene†button until the LED on the IRLinc turned off. - Clicked “Scene A > On†and the LED on the IRLinc started to blink. - Clicked “OK†to the menu prompt. - Now there are no menus or progress bars on the screen. At the bottom of the page it says “System Busyâ€. At this point I clicked “Program Summary†and I get an error saying: “Discovering Nodes; Retry!†If I click “OK†the error disappears but the linking bar (see below) still appears. When this error appears, a “Linking†progress bar appears as well. I have let it count to 100%, but then it just starts over again. I’ve let this run for a while, but it just keeps starting over. At this point I close the program. When I re-open the program, a “Linking In Progress†prompt appears with the three options (remove existing links, etc, etc). Also open is a linking progress bar window. If I click “finish†with “remove existing links†selected, that menu and the linking progress bar disappear. At this point nothing for the “Scene A†button on the remote has appeared. Hopefully all these details are helpful. =) Under Link Management > Advanced Options, I have “Automatic†selected. If I go under Tools > Diagnostics > Show Device Link Table, I have to click “start†and then a menu appears prompting me to select a device. I select the IRLinc…(I assume this is what you wanted?) and then click “OKâ€. A progress bar appears, but before it can finish an error shows up saying “Request Failedâ€. I then clicked “Compare†and two windows appeared: Window 1: [Missing this record] 0FF8 : E2 01 0E.D9.31 FF 1F 01 Window 2: 0FF8 : E2 01 0E.D9.31 FF 1F 01 I’m not sure what I clicked since I haven’t been able to reproduce it. -- I should mention that I only upgraded to version 2.7 today. Prior to that I had spoken to someone in Tech. Support who helped me setup the credit card remote and it worked without any problem. I’m up for trying anything! Thanks in advance for your help. It is greatly appreciated!

Hello All, I am trying to setup my Harmony 890 to work with the ISy99 Pro and IRLinc (2411R). Unfortunately after reading countless posts in these forums, I still can’t get it to work and am totally stumped. I’m hoping one of the gurus in this forum can give me a push in the right direction. =) It is *very* much appreciated! Here is my process: At this point I can see it says “System Busy†on the bottom of the screen. But, it just seems to hang there and not do anything. If I close the admin console and re-open it, the “Linking In Progress†screen appears (prompting me to click ‘finish’). I can also see a linking progress bar on the screen counting up to 100%. I’ve waited patiently for it to get to 100%, but then it just starts over at 0% again. If I click ‘finish’ then both the “Linking In Progress†and “Linking†windows disappear. I would expect that after clicking the button on the Harmony remote and clicking “OK†on the “Add Button to IRLinc Receiver†menu, I would see the button under My Lighting. I even tried this with the credit card remote that came with the IRLinc and can’t get that to work either. So, I assume I’m doing something wrong! Also, I’m using V. 2.7.0. Any help is so greatly appreciated! Thanks! (I hope this thread is useful for other people who are in the same boat as me.)
