why do i get so many entries when I add a z wave device what do I do with them?

I have ISY 994

I have a KPL and use button D to indicate if somebody is home or not. I turn button on when leaving I turn button on and off when arrive home. How can I from program turn that button on or off?

thanks and sounds like good idea in general. However, in my case my different programs are already in different folders. for example, I have a folder for Winter, Summer, NightTime and such. but maybe given the suggestion I can change or rethink what I have done thanks again

is there a way to stop all running program? There are situations when I would like to stop all programs that are currently running to kind of 'reset' things to start new program however, in thinking about this as I type, I couldn't stop the program that I use to stop all others. I can create a program that stops programs one by one and that might be only solution thanks

ok, Found the problem.. User error. this module was already set up... I wished it had given an error when I tried to add it vs. just closing the input screen. thanks for your help

I am trying to add a 2457D2 as a new device. I cannot find that specific device in the drop down. Closest I can find is a 2457D2X and it will not link I try auto and it does not find it either. any suggestions? thanks

But if it has been working up till now should that be an issue. All I did was move the PLM from one room to another. I realize that doing that can complicate things but I wouldn't think it would be a coupling issue????

I understand the different circuit. but the therm is now CLOSER to the PLM which really baffles me and is really line of sight. total distance maybe 8 feet. switches vary from a few years to new. I have replaced more of the KPL over time than anything because they go bad

hmmmm I am familiar with the two legs for the A/C. Just confused that it was working before w/o issue. Dual Band Devices... don't know that I have any. most everything is a wall switch no Range Extenders I can try to use extension cord to run PLM into a different wall socket but who knows where I will find that what is THE best solution? dual band device or range extenders

I moved my 994i and PLM to new room in at home. now it can't communicate with some devices. one thing in specific the PLM is much closer to now but no go. Therm is 2441V Insteon Therm Adapter V.00 I so rarely have problems I have to always ask when something comes up. suggestions?

I have been using it for about a year w/o any problems as a 6 button KPL. However, I am thinking if it is in 8 button mode maybe I will just get the new buttons and use a 8 button

It has always been a 6 button KPL until a few days ago. I found User Guide but did not see anything about changing to 6 button mode from 8 button mode

I have reset it and still operating at 8 button KPL. Guess time to replace it. Seems like I am replacing a device every month...

I tried and believe I did it correctly but it never reset..

thanks. I tried a few times but can't seem to get it back to 6 button. getting the 'middle' of both buttons and pushing switch in takes more hands that I have..

I have the 2487s and been using for awhile. 6 button. other day, I noticed that the top and bottom larger buttons are now illuminated differently. It appears that behind the top button are the two lights as is the bottom. I understand that it could be converted to an 8button switch but I didn't do anything and it is now acting like that. I had the top/bottom buttons controlling the attached overhead light but now I have to only push the top left side of the button to turn on/off light. any idea how I can get this back to original configuration? I tried to 'restore' and still operating differently thanks

ok. this has worked for a few years and then last two weeks it suddenly stopped in some places. it is just so aggravating. the PLM/ISY controls the other 80% fine at the moment. it is just tough to understand why what was working stopped. it is like weather it seems I have PLM plugged into separate circuit

I have in MBDR a KPL switch. it can control the modules in that room but the ISY cannot connect to any of them? if I take one of the lamp modules to another room the ISY can control it but has red exclamation mark.

I have a device with red asterisk. but it writes and operates properly.... this moment is one of those times I ask myself WHY do i mess with this stuff. I have about 20% of my devices that just stopped responding

thanks. I will take a look at that. One thing that has plagued me forever with this stuff is that some times it works and other times it does not. I get a cannot communicate with ...... error msg. then later or day later, it is working again. any thoughts on that?
