  1. Larry, Not sure about the Query. Do I query from the program, and THEN check the status? Next: Mea culpa for the program code. Either the copy was short, or I messed up the paste, but the correct code follows....O hope. J. Kitchen Motion Low Battery - [ID 008D][Parent 0001] If Time is 4:00:00AM And 'Kitchen / Kitchen Miscellaneous Sensor' Battery Level <= 10% Then Send Notification to 'John OBoyle' content 'Sensor Battery-1' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  2. There's not much of a program. It just queries the sensor. The underlying problem is that the sensor doesn't reset with the new battery. Kitchen Motion Low Battery - [ID 008D][Parent 0001] If Time is 4:00:00AM And 'Kitchen / Kitchen Miscellaneous Sensor' Battery Level <= 10% Then Send Notification to 'XXX XXX' content 'Sensor Battery-1' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') J.
  3. I've done that several times. I keep getting the the battery alert e-mail each day. Getting frustrated. Thanks though. J.
  4. My options are "One" or "Two". Verbiage says it will set up a second node. Not at all sure what this is or if I need/want one? J.
  5. I get that. What I don't have is the "Low bat node" item. My ISY is 994I. I thought that should handle the Insteon devices. Thanks. JLOB https://drive.google.com/open?id=14lk_1sloGMhjgMNAFrZNJ8ysEyuO7pRr
  6. Michel, Actually, I thought I had responded to this the other day. Apparently, I didn’t “send”. I didn’t see anything that resembled “Low Bat node”, but then again I’m not sure where the “the navigation bar/device tree” is! Can you offer any help? Thanks. JLOB
  7. I thought I had done that the other day and was happy that the alert stopped. Premature, as it were. I got the alert again this morning. Looking at your note again, I'm not sure I know where/what the "low bat node | Query" is. Can you be more specific towards a soon-to-be octogenarian? Thank you. JLOB
  8. Michel, I actually did that yesterday on a whim. This morning, when there was no new alert, I wondered if it were an anomaly or an actual fix. Thanks for the confirmation. THAT'S the type of data I'd like to see consolidated somewhere vis-a-vis the MS II. J.
  9. Michel, So, just as you responded to the user regarding why you thought the MS II was than stellar, I received a low-battery notice for one of mine. I also had one last Friday and was pleased. The unit had been in service for about six months and I was wondering how long it would take to see the report. Since I dutifully changed the battery on Saturday, I was NOT pleased to see the second notice. Now either I’m missing something relative to resetting a battery indicator, or I’m beginning to see why you’re not enamored with this Insteon item. Any thoughts? Thanks. JLOB
  10. Hijack away. I wish I had an answer for you. Based on your comment, I'm gonna pick up a couple of more on the belief that we'll get some data soon. It IS a good product. J.
  11. I'm aware that there is little or no data from Smarthome regarding this sensor. (I think they're missing a bet. If the data were available to us, we'd likely purchase more of the sensors.) I'm looking for anyone who has experimented with (and hopefully recorded the results of) Motion Sensitivity and/or Battery Low threshold. I need to tweak these settings and am looking for a starting point. Thanks. JLOB
  12. You can have any trigger cause anything to operate using the Alexa routines. I would have a vocal expression operate a variable. Then I would have a program triggered by the variable open the garage door and reset the variable. A second copy of this path would close the garage door. Then I would create another variable to report the change in status when detected. How do you make a phrase spoken to Alexa trigger a variable? I'd LOVE to be able to do this, but I thought there are only specific triggers that Alexa understands? Thanks. JLOB
  13. larryllix Thank you. Got it! I was looking at the Android App in my phone, which doesn’t have that option. I found it on the Amazon Alexa app under Smathome/Devices! I had many duplicates. Everything is back to normal. I appreciate your help. J. https://alexa.amazon.com/spa/index.html#cards
  14. I just looked at (what I THINK is) the proper Alexa mobile app. I can't seem to find a "delete all" phrase, but in looking at the device list, it appears that if I do that, all my Echo Dots (11) and associated settings will get deleted as well? Comment? Thanks. JLOB
  15. I never thought of deleting ALL the devices. How safe is that and why do I need to use a mobile app instead if just asking Alexa to do it as usual? Sounds like it will do what I want but I worry about losing all the devices. Thanks. JLOB
  16. EXACT is..."Alexa, Turn on (or off) vinegar" Thanks. JLOB
  17. I’m not sure where to post this problem and if this is the incorrect area, please let me know. I have ISY 994I, both Firmware and UI at 5.0.14. I have a small space heater plugged into an Insteon 26663.222 on/off outlet v.44. I have the Amazon Alexa portal installed and, until recently, had no problems with voice control of the heater. (No. I don’t know what changed….sorry.) Alexa no longer recognizes either the word “heat” or “heater” instead announcing “I had trouble communicating with provider. Check your devices network connection and power supply.” I went into the portal and added “junk” as a trigger word. That worked for a bit but is now no longer recognized like the two above. I’m now using “vinegar” as a trigger and, so far, it’s working just fine but not exactly intuitive! I’m not sure what I’m doing (advanced age has a lot to do with this) and would like to find a solution. Device vs Scene vs Progam? ISY category vs Alexa category? I’ve tried it as a “device”. I’ve added a simple on/off program and tried that. No joy. I’m not new to this. I have thirty-seven devices controlled via Alexa, and all but one work well. Has anyone any idea where I should look next? Thanks. JLOB
  18. Larry, My emergency lights are ALL in a scene. Makes it a it easier to add a new light to the flashers. The doorbell is a unique idea though. I'm going to give that a try. J.
  19. Worked like a charm. Thanks. JLOB
  20. I've just updated my 994I from a firmware 4.7.3 to 5.0.14. In my prior setup I had a program that would fast-flash every connected light in our home, both inside and out, to indicate an emergency situation, and to easily direct responding EMT's (especially if it were dark). This loop (See below) was set to run for a period of time but could readily be cancelled via a "Turn off Panic" comment to "Alexa". When I tried to test this program today, I discovered that there was NO way to stop the execution short of waiting until it completed it's count. Alexa commands didn't work, nor was I able to stop it via the Administrative Console. Since I'm betting that it's a timing thing in 5.0.14 (That release must run more efficiently), can someone suggest a programming workaround that will let me stop the action prematurely? Thanks for any help you can offer. John O’Boyle Panic - [ID 0052][Parent 0001] If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Repeat 9999 times Set 'Panic Lights' Fast On Set 'Panic Lights' Fast Off Else Set 'Panic Lights' Fast Off Set 'Panic Lights' Fast Off Set 'Panic Lights' Fade Stop
  21. Of COURSE I can! All I needed to do was have you jog my memory. I'm definitely getting too old for this stuff. You wouldn't believe the gyrations I went through this morning to get that to happen. I read your note and had it fixed within two minutes...not to mention beingabe to delete three extraneous scenes! Thanks for the help. JLOB
  22. This be have been answered elsewhere in the forum, but I’ve not been able to find it. I have an Isy-controlled outdoor light. It works just fine. In addition to its regular schedule, I’d like to also, on occasion, turn it o at 50%. I thought I could do that with a scene, having the one device in that scene and have that iteration of the device on-level set to 50% as opposed to 100%. Doesn’t appear to work. Maybe I’m trying something that can’t be done? Anyone have a comment? Thanks. JLOB
