  1. I also had Alexa able to arm our ELK alarm. I created 3 simple programs, ELK ARM. ELK AWAY and ELK Vacation which only had a THEN which was to arm the ELK. Triggered only by an Alexa routine. That ability went away when I upgraded last month to the eISY. I have been driving myself crazy trying to restore that ability which, once you are used to it, is sorely missed. I have tried and believe that I have properly configured the ELK module in Polyglot. I carefully followed The admin console log shows taht ELK Controller is connected. But I don't then see any of the following features under ELK Controller device in the admin console. 15. If successful, the Elk Controller and Elk Outputs, Zones and Controllers will show up on the left side where your devices are found. 16. At the top of the list of names of your zones will likely be “Home”. Click on “Home”. This will bring you to the current status of Area 1 of your alarm system. There is now a dropdown box that you can change to arm, disarm, etc. Choose what you would like to do and then click the dialog box “Set armed Status” to whatever you’ve selected. This process is different from the Elk Portal Module where the Armed status was listed next to the “Main”, “Programs”, “Configuration” part of the Administrative Console. Any help as to what I am doing wrong???? Thanks
  2. Thanks to everyone. I really struggled with each phase of the migration. A big part was the ELK programs, which just disappeared and had to be totally rebuilt. I will say that Michel and his crew of UD have been nothing short of fantastic. I am suffering through my admin console crashing each night when my wifi resets itself. Again, the UD team has been there and have been trouble shooting Some of my fault, some have not been. All in all, I am glad I made the migration, if only to help support UD. Funny thing, after all this, the eISY cannot control the ecobee anywhere as well as it could with the Insteon thermostat. Which was built to be controlled by the ISY.
  3. OK. I thought that might be it. That is the code I use to arm / disarm the keypad. Will put that number into the Node configuration. To be honest, I am now getting ELK data into my eISY. But I am having real problems with my eISY crashing every time my wifi resets itself at night. I have to unplug and then plug in the eISY to get it back on line. Thanks much
  4. Dennis Happy to set up a new user code in ELK. My question is where, in the ELKRP2, do I do that? Is that the code I use to arm and disarm my alarms on the key pads? Please be specific. Thanks so much
  5. Yes, 10.0.0.xxx is the IP address of the ELK, 2101 is the unsecured port. 2601 is the secure port. Which one should I use? What should I use if not ELKNAME? Where do I find or define my User Code? Under ELK I see RP Access Code and User name. I also see the code I use to log into my keypads. Is this one of these?
  6. Sorry, where do I program the ELK for a new user with the code I want to use?? The eISY keeps freezing, every 10 hours or so. Here is a section from the error log 2023-10-07 22:18:02,027 ELK-3286 udi_interface WARNING Controller:sync_complete: ELK Controller: No node address or name match for 'Media room fron' 2023-10-07 22:18:02,029 ELK-3286 udi_interface WARNING Controller:sync_complete: ELK Controller: No node address or name match for 'Second floor ha' 2023-10-07 22:18:02,030 ELK-3286 udi_interface WARNING Controller:sync_complete: ELK Controller: No node address or name match for 'Second floor ha' 2023-10-07 22:18:02,031 ELK-3286 udi_interface WARNING Controller:sync_complete: ELK Controller: No node address or name match for 'Second floor st' 2023-10-07 22:18:02,033 ELK-3286 udi_interface WARNING Controller:sync_complete: ELK Controller: No node address or name match for 'all bathrooms' 2023-10-07 22:18:05,790 ELK-3286 udi_interface WARNING Controller:sync_complete: ELK Controller: All nodes added, ready to go... 2023-10-07 22:18:11,000 ELK-3286 udi_interface ERROR Controller:timeout: ELK Controller: Timeout sending message ZV!!! 2023-10-07 22:18:16,149 Thread-10 udi_interface WARNING Controller:add_node: Existing node name 'Master Bedroom keypad' for keypad_1 does not match requested name 'Master Bedroom', changing to match 2023-10-07 22:18:16,150 Thread-10 udi_interface.interface ERROR interface:renameNode: renameNode: Node keypad_1 doesn't exist 2023-10-07 22:18:21,124 Thread-10 udi_interface WARNING Controller:add_node: Existing node name 'Front Door keypad' for keypad_5 does not match requested name 'Front Door', changing to match 2023-10-07 22:18:21,124 Thread-10 udi_interface.interface ERROR interface:renameNode: renameNode: Node keypad_5 doesn't exist 2023-10-07 22:22:57,905 Thread-28 pyisy WARNING __init__:node_changed_received: ISY Could not communicate with device: 45 11 F 1
  7. Temperature: C Host: 10.0.0.xxx:2101 (or should I use 2601?? Areas: 1 Outputs : 10 (all are blank in my admin console) change node names: true light method: ELKNAME user code: just used 4 random numbers. Should I instead use my RP Access Code from the Elk? My ELK says it is ElkRP2. I have not yet deleted my ISY which was still connected to ELK. Is that necessary? I have rebooted the admin console several times. Now I still get a red exclamation mark beside ELK Controller in admin console., Nothing under any of the Outputs. For the ELK Controller, I am now getting Connected, Connected, 1 (NodeServer Errors), Disconnected, and then the rest False. Thanks so much
  8. I followed your instructions for the ELK Nodeserver for configuration. Not sure about all of my selections. Finally got the ELK Controller to show up in my eISY. But all the data fields are blank. Before the at least said DISCONNECTED or FALSE. Any suggestions/instructions?? Thanks
  9. Dennis, you are amazing. I actually stumbled on these instructions late last night. Sort of got some progress. Set temperature unit to C Set host to the host or ip address and port, e.g. 192.168.1.15:2101 -done Set user_code, suggested to create a unique usercode for this NodeServer - just made up 4 numbers??? Set areas to the range of areas you would like to include. I only have one area in my ELK security. Is the number therefore 1? Set outputs to the range of outputs to include. Had no idea, used 1-10?? Set change_node_names to true makes ELK the source of node names so if they are changed then ISY names will be changed to match. - change to "true"? Set light_method to ELKID to check for ELKID=n on ISY Nodes, or ELKNAME to check if the Elk Light Name matches and ISY Node name or address. Used ELKNAME??? Any comments, corrections?
  10. You guys are way out of my league. I had/have a ISY which was connected to my ELK and working fine. For some reason I cant remember anymore, I decided to upgrade to the eISY. Most things are working now, a few Insteon lights can't get discovered, and I purchased the ELK node. I have no idea how and where to configure that node. And then, I presume, I will have to reprogram in eISY each of the Programs I had in ISY that was using an ELK setting or device. Have no idea how to do any of this. Help please and please be simple and specific. Thanks much
  11. looks like I am buying the eISY. Hopefully wont run into problems migrating. Have read some real horror stories.
  12. I understand only part of what you guys are saying. What I think you are saying I should do is: 1. Buy the eISY. 2. Carefully learn how to migrate from the 994 to an eISY. 3. Not be concerned about some of the horror stories I have read in this forum from people who have struggled with this migration. Some of whom have gone back to the 994. 4. Do I need to also buy the z-ware add on?? 5. Assuming everything goes perfectly and my eISY works exactly like my 994, I then buy or add the Ecobee node. 6. I then I will be able to connect the Ecobee thermostat to the eISY and control that thermostat through ISY like I was able to with my Insteon theremostat. Is this all right?????
  13. I dint think so. I have the ISY 994. Do I need the new machine?
  14. sorry, I was not clear. I have easily removed my perfecting fine Isteon thermostat and repalced it with teh Ecobee thermostat Premium which is now working fine. And looks way cooler. But I don't know how to make the new thermostat show up under Main in the UD admin console. SO I can then control and program it like I did with the Insteon thermostat. Essentially I want to swap out the Ecobee for the Insteon thermostat in my Programs. I have named the Ecobee in the ELK and it shows up under Elk/Thermostat. But not as a device under Main. And certainly is not configured wirelessly to my Elk console. Does that make more sense?? Thanks much
  15. Thinking of moving from Insteon thermostat to a new Ecobee Premium thermostat. What are the steps to remove the existing thermostat and then add the new thermostat?? Thanks much
  16. just spoke with Insteon support. They say there is no way to turn off the built in programs in the thermostat. Only to modify them. So I can have the ISY control the temperature setting 24/7. But then I lose the ability to change the temperature settings manually (on the fly) either through Alexa or on the thermostat. Because the ISY settings immediately takes over and reverts the thermostat to the ISY programmed setting. Simply put, I want to program ISY to set one temperature at 7:00 am and another at 10:30pm. In between I want to be able to change the setting on the thermostat by using its buttons or Alexa. - if I have the first ISY program run from 7:00 - 10:30 and the second from 10:31 to 6:59. I can't change the temperature manually (on thermostat or by Alexa). ISY rules. - if i just have the first ISY program run at 7:00 and the second run at 10:30, then the built in programs on the thermostat take over in between and changes the thermostat settings when the time hits Wake, Leave, Return and Sleep. I can now change manually but lose the flexibility to have ISY programs know when it is summer or winter, when I am away, when I come home, when I am on extended vacation, when I open front door, etc. - I have tried HOLD on the thermostat, But when I manually adjust, the HOLD setting disappears and I am back to the above. - don't know what PROGRAM AUTO Mode does on the ISY console. But it seems to just freeze the thermostat from accepting any changes. HELP!!!!
  17. I think I figured out the problem. But not yet the solution. There are programs built into the thermostat itself. For Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep. Which have their own times to go on and of. Trying to figure out how to turn off those programs now that I want ISY to control the temperatures. Should be easy once I figure that out.
  18. I have an Insteon thermostat. Have a program that turns up the heat in the day. Another that turns it down when I leave the house or it is nighttime. Everything works fine. But every once in awhile we want to turn the heat up or air conditioner on. So we click on the the thermostat up or down buttons and change the temperature. range. My problem is that, within a few minutes, the program restores its temperature setting, presumably when it next queries the thermostat. How do I change the program so it allows for a manual override at teh thermostat or through Alexa. Obviously when nighttime comes, I want the nighttime program to run and the daytime program to run the next morning. thanks
  19. Just tried a new power cord and you guys are right, worked like a charm!! Strange that the blue light on the 994 was blue and the green light on the plug itself was on . An old Motorola plug worked like a charm. Who would have guessed.? Thanks to the collective wisdom.
  20. We have a full house of your products including the ELK and ISY products. Everything was working fine until yesterday morning when our ISY was no longer communicating with our Insteon switches, thermostat or alarms. I could not find the ISY using ISY Launcher. Deleted the Java app, cleared the cache and still not found. I tried restarting the ISY 994. All I get is the blue light on top, no other lights. The ethernet connection to our switch does not show that anything is attached to that port. I switched out the cable and the port. No change. I tried to reset the 994. Still no lights other than the blue power light. On our router app, it shows that the "Universal Devices" device is now off line at 192.168.0.12. Any assistance or guidance to get us back on line would be appreciated. We are suddenly living in a not Smart home!!. Thanks
  21. I finally did. I had to use Google Assistant rather than Google Home. It worked like a charm. Thanks much. Now trying Polyglot. Gulp.
  22. Michael Everything is working fine on Amazon Alexa, controlling over 50 devices. Now trying to set up Google Home for the first time. Use "Universal Devices" under "Add Devices". Use same email name and password. Get error message "your client does not have permission to the requested URL" Suggestions?
  23. I am also trying to arm ELK from ISY. I can disarm but not arm. I can use programs in ISY with IF's as to whether alarm is armed or not. But I can't arm. When I run "ARM STAY" from ISY, I get a "Failure to Communicate" on keypad. In fact, in some cases, it has triggered a "panic alarm" which should be F1. I am trying to create a program in ISY to ARM STAY which then allow me to trigger that program through Alexa. Any suggestions or guidance? Please make it simple, I am not a techie!!! Thanks
