ISY994 IR admin console will not load defaults
If you get really ambitious could you check your ISY994 SD card CONFIG folder for an IR.cfg file? Is it just <ir>..... </ir> with IR default codes in between?

ISY994 IR admin console will not load defaults
The previous owner had it working I imagine as the bottom label says ZW IR P{RO. I don't know what happened to block the IR function. Maybe he swapped out the SD card. Or maybe he moved his IR module function to a different unit? I'm pretty sure this is not a firmware issue but you never know. The IR tab appears in admin console but the load defaults might be needed to enter any IR button assignments. I guess I will try to put the IR.cfg into the zip file and see what happens. Backup first of course.

ISY994 IR admin console will not load defaults
I bought a used ISY994i ZW IR PRO for a backup and in attempting to test the IR the admin console says IR configuration not valid when I attempt to load default IR values. I have an IR.cfg from an ISY99i that is just XML with <ir> tags. Is it possible to just add that to zip file? Or is there a cleaner option? Also I bought a couple of IR daughter boards from UDI years ago as backups but didn't purchase IR module upgrades. Is the IR.cfg all that is needed? I'm assuming this sort of information is covered under "Right to Repair" law.

porting modules to new ISY99i?
Tried adding an ISY99i/IR product which is required to transfer module licenses? UDI won't allow serial number from old unit.

porting modules to new ISY99i?
You lie. You said you would not offer help anymore to me :D But thanks for your view. I am just looking at backups right now so I am looking for information not a module transfer at this point. Planning is important. Hopefully planning is never obsolete :D

porting modules to new ISY99i?
Technically they won't support an ISY99i which is discontinued. Maybe they will do a module license transfer. Who knows. If they truly don't support ISY99i units then maybe they should have a patch that unlocks all modules for discontinued units. Sure it might lose a few trade-up sales but it would greatly increase customer satisfaction and goodwill. I hesitate to invest in companies that don't design for full life-cycle. Planned obsolescence is a big red flag for me. So is "products as a service". As soon as all companies in this market require a cloud connection I will open my own company with internet independent products.

porting modules to new ISY99i?
Right now I have a few ISY99i units doing different things. I am thinking about having backup units available. I only have one unit that has IR so I bought an IR chip to install in a backup unit. I was hoping a backup of old unit and restore to backup unit would work but it looks like I need to buy an IR module just to test it? Are module licenses transferable if a unit dies? What if Universal Devices isn't around anymore?
