    EISY shipping info?

Yeah... fabulous. I sent a few emails to sales@universal-devices to try to get the PLM serial cable shipped in the same box, no replies, so will have to chase down that piece of it. I'm a little frustrated with UD - no shipping confirmation, no replies to email ... I know they are busy, but this is basic customer service 101. Hopefully the migration will be so awesome and I will finally end up with a perfect way to migrate from insteon to relatively seamless multi-solution automated home that I won't stay frustrated

    What is the EISY?

@lilyoyo1Thanks for updating the link- but that still takes me to the same Amazon DB9-USB adapter. I guess I need to get the RJ45-DB9 StarTech customizable (you can wire the pins) that was mentioned in another thread... to 2 things. Got it!!

    What is the EISY?

Thanks Geddy - that would get me from RJ45 to DB9... but the EISY only has USB so still need to get one more adapter. I've reached out to UD sales ... I can preorder the EISY but it won't let me add the $29 cable ... would have to order that AND pay another $10 shipping so hoping they can combine and save a little.

    What is the EISY?

@lilyoyo1 What adapter are you mentioning? I've seen some posts talking about an RJ45 to USB (like the ones to enable console on some routers) but am hesitant on ordering anything that isn't vetted by someone smarter here

    What is the EISY?

I have a 2413S PLM with the RJ45 interface cable that plugs into my ISY. The EISY doesn't have that port... how will I connect it? There's no info on the EISY page and it's not clear that the serial cable shown on the "additional info" screen will work. Is that what folks have used to connect PLM to policy? I'll be running a hybrid Insteon + WIFI (Lifx modules) for a while until I migrate completely away from Insteon (years). Thanks!!!
  6. As I've always felt on this forum- this is the place to go for answers and ideas. Thanks everyone! I'm now going to just make the migration one weekend late in the summer - let my Mobilinc subscription run out and them do it. In the interim I'll start playing with the FLUX led idea and see how well "other" plugs work on Polisy by building a mini non-Insteon system as my sandbox. Then I'll add the ISY and PLM migration. Cheers!!
  7. Ok, I’m convinced this is definitely worth the effort. Am I nuts for wanting to build “new” system in parallel with “old” system? It requires that I go find a PLM and that is apparently a gold rush level of searching! I’m afraid to migrate the PLM to the new system until things are stable/tested.
  8. Athlon- I don’t know how you found that - I searched like crazy, you’re brilliant! So either I dust off my very old Python skills or hope a developer here wants to take a crack at it (with a very willing tester!) There are a ton of LED bulbs and strip controllers who all utilize this - I’m surprised it hasn’t come up already. I’m going to set up a Polisy system in tandem with the current system (providing I can find a 2nd PLM). Thanks much for the guidance.
  9. I've been happily using the ISY for years - full house of Insteon (some modules, believe it or not, still working since 2004). I've pretty much used up my "stock" of replacement appliance-link and dimmer modules, so at some point soon, I'll have to migrate. I've decided on Polisy as my "bridge to the future" and wanted to get some input from those that have traveled this road already. I'm looking forward to migrating to UD's portal and mobile app (currently using Mobilinc). Specifically, it looks like any number of Wifi plugs could work - the consensus seems to be the TPLink ones. That's great. What I'm hoping to figure out - I have LED accent lights all over the place - all controlled by Insteon for on/off, but each LED controller is also controlled by Wifi. These are all linked to FluxWifi (FluxSmart). Has anyone worked with those - is there a Node server available? This is going to be a journey, but glad to know lots of folks have already done this. Thanks in advance, MJ
  10. Hi all... we're in the process of putting solar shades in and our vendor of choice is using Rollease (https://www.rolleaseacmeda.com/us/products/smarthome) Everything I have read here is about Somfy, but nothing on these guys. They can integrate with Alexa so could easily live with it not being integrated to my ISY, but if I can... I'd love to have them be part of scenes (movie time, good morning, etc.). They have a serial interface to their hub which looks like it could work, but I wanted to check in here first to see if there was anything from the collective wisdom? Thanks in advance! Marc
  11. Resurrecting this again as it's getting colder at night - and I'm getting major push back to put the fan on a timer I need to leave the KPL alone so that it turns on and off purely - no timer activation. What I need is a trigger, say a button on a RemoteLinc2 - that initiates "turn fan on" for 30 mins, off for 30, on for 30, off for 30 ... for a total of 8 hours... with the smarts to stop the program and leave the fan in an OFF state "IF KPL OFF" is seen. I'm totally a newbie at this and really appreciate any tips as I embark on this as my weekend project Thanks all!!!
  12. You guys rock, thank you so much. I'm going to play with some of this now!
  13. Greetings! Recent convert from SmartHome to ISY994i here. I'm looking for any help on how to program my whole house fan to cycle - as in 15 or 30 mins on/off, repeat indefinitely until stopped. During the day when not using AC I'll leave it on constant (so just turn the KPL on), but at night we need it to cycle. I am totally new to ISY programming, I've looked at the commands and syntax, but not sure if REPEAT is the right way to do it . What I'm hoping to accomplish is: Activate KPL or Mobilinc command or voice command through Alexa "turn night fan on" 30 mins on 30 mins off repeat until "turn night fan off" command Any help or guidance is much appreciated. I searched for fan cycle and whole house fan and didn't find anything quite like what I am trying to do.
