timster Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I'm a newbie trying to figure out the best programming method for my Insteon Thermostat 2441TH. What ever I do, it has to be wife friendly which means she can walk over to the thermostat and override the default settings. I see 2 basic options. 1) Program it stand alone and override it occasionally with the ISY. 2) Program it entirely through the ISY. In regards to #1, what's the point of have an ISY if you don't use it. In regards to #2, I'm hesitant I can write a robust program that accounts for random wife/kid button pushing. How do you do it? Any suggestions are appreciated.
Xathros Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I have a KPL button that enables/disables ISY control. Button Lit = Wife override - Button Off = ISY in control. ISY Control started as a basic schedule and evolved as track occupancy and since I took control of my pellet stove and gained access to outside temp. A basic schedule for setback is where I would start and add on from there as your skills and needs dictate. -Xathros
