Brian H Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Saw this online. Seems in some cases the homes Insteon automation was open to unwanted access. I believe it was not requiring a user to use a password and users name by default. http://www.forbes.com/sites/kashmirhill ... omes-hack/
MWareman Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Yeah - the old SmartLinc I believe. No password by default - and instructions from Smarthome on port forwarding. Not so smart really. You can query Google very precisely and you can find the SmartLinc home page on home networks. Connect to it - and you are controlling devices. I had one of them before I went up to the ISY. I was never impressed with it.
