I have an ISY 99i with an Insteon PLM that is a few years old -- not the new dual band model. My programs have stopped running and I can't get remote access. If I unplug the PLM for a while, it will work again for a while. Is there a way to tell whether I need to replace the PLM? Could it be something else? Will the new dual band PLM unit work with the ISY 99i? Thanks in advance for the help.

The new 2413S Dual Band would work fine.

 

With one change. It does not provide DC power to the ISY99i through the serial interface cable. So if the 2412S is powering the ISY99i. You will have to add a power supply to get power back.

Smarthome has a supply you can add to your order. If you decide a new PLM is needed.

The power cycling and cooling down of the 2412S. Does sound like it is on its way out.
