Dimmer (2472DWH) makes light cycle on/off

Hello Forum -

 

I'm trying to install the 2472DWH Dimmer outlet.

 

For some reason, when I use the dimmer plug with a light, it quickly cycles on and off.

 

The light does not completely turn off, but the light intensity does fluctuate.

 

Any thoughts?

What type of bulb is in the light?

Specification is incandescent only. Though I suspect many dimmable LED bulbs would also work.

Your symptoms may indicate wrong type of bulb or the OutletLinc is not wired correctly.

 

One more thought. The light you are connecting to the OutletLinc Dimmer doesn't have any built in electronic dimmer or touch controls?

Well you could try a incandescent and see if things change. If nothing changes we will have to do some more troubleshooting.

I would definitely suspect the LED bulbs if they are not dimmable.

I was considering buying a couple of these and control my under kitchen cabinet lights. The product specification states incandescent only. Would it actually work if I buy dimmable LEDs, as Brian comments? And if so, do anyone have any suggestions of dimmable LEDs?
