Approach to Triggering Scenes

Hi Guys-

I'm a bit new to this so I'm trying to get my head around it.

If you create a scene via the ISY, and you want this scene, say 'OUTSIDE ALL' to be triggered by a few keypad linc buttons around the house, is it better to reside as a scene in one keypad linc or is it better to have each button trigger a program thus triggering the scene.

Thanks!

Matt

I'd link all the KPL buttons together as "Controllers" of each other, then I'd tell a program in ISY that if any of those buttons is ON to trigger whatever lights you want on, OFF the opposite. There are a million ways to skin the cat, my cat works good that way.

I prefer to add each controller to the one scene. Once the ISY writes the links to the devices the ISY is out of the picture. If you use a program the ISY has to run the program before any devices are changed which usually takes ~0.5 second.
