apostolakisl Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 This isn't an ISY issue, but I assume people here might know the answer. I just got some of the "insteon" cameras (foscam) for my father in law. I set them up so he can check on the house when out of town. They have a built-in "manufacturers" ddns service but I can't get it to work. The port forward works just fine since I can go to his IP address and pick up the cameras just fine, but when I use the supposed ddns url it gives me notta. What could I be doing wrong? I would rather not have to set him up with something like no-ip or dyndns.biz.
PurdueGuy Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I hace some Foscams that support DDNS. They too report something like The Validity of Dynamic Domain Dynamic Domain Name Status Expires On bv1234.myfoscam.org Valid 2017-03-12 However, it took a LONG time to make this reachable from anywhere. On the order of days. DNS propogation should be under 24 hours, but I think it was closer to a week for me.

Of course I checked if the ddns name server was working immediately, and it wasn't. Maybe I just need to be patient. Thanks for the info.
