Moving from Insteon hub to ISY 994i

Hello,

I am using the Insteon hub with 4 micro on/off modules (2443-222), wireless open/close sensor (2843-222),mini remote 4 scene (2342-232) and smoke bridge (2982-222).

I am thinking to move to the ISY994i because I understand that with the ISY994i I can make scene and events with conditions and trigers (similar to house-link software).

2 questions:

1. If I buy the ISY994i with Insteon serial plm, will I be able to use my exiting modules (that I mention above)?

2. Will I be able to change the micro modules setting from the software - because the modules are installed behind the ceiling lamps, I can't reach them - can I change the modules settings, like switch type connected (latch, 3-way latch, single momenteay) from the software? otherwise I will need to take off the ceiling lamps to change settings from the module.

Thanks.

Hi gmanor77,

I had been using Houselinc and an Insteon Hub prior to moving to an ISY994i. You are correct. You can make scenes and events with conditions and triggers that function similar to Houselinc as well as a lot of functionality that Houselinc does not do. I've been extremely happy with it.

As to question #1, I am successfully using all of the modules you mentioned so yes. #2, yes. The software interface lets you change these settings without having to have physically touch the module. This is what the 'options' pop up looks like in the admin console for a micro on off module:

It is best to reset all of the modules and start fresh.

There is a choice when adding modules to remove existing links but I don't know how well it works. As the HUBs ID is in the modules.

You will have to wake up the Wireless Open Closed Sensor as it is battery operated and goes into a standby mode.
