What do I need for my ISY/M1 Install

Good evening everyone!

I have had my ISY99i system running for a couple years now and can't be more happy. Last week I went ahead and purchased an Elk M1 Gold system. It included the following:

ELK-M1GSYS4S

Elk-M1XIN

Elk-M1RB (For future fun projects)

Elk-M1XEP

My two big questions right now (i'm sure I'll have a couple more tomorrow…haha) are what do I need for the M1 to talk to the ISY? Also, can anyone recommend a brand/model number for the following hardwired devices:

-180 degree motion and glass break

-360 degree motion and glass break.

On the motion sensore/glassbreaks, how are you getting power for them? Are you just using power from the M1 panel itself?

It's crazy how this install project has snowballed, I finally ordered all the parts to neaten up my home media/networking corner of my basement. I ordered a open 20U hinged rack to put (3) 24 port cat 5 patch panels, (3) 24 port 3ghz F connector patch panel. I can't wait to get all these RG6 and Cat 5 cables neatly into the rack! I will also install my Speco Security DVR on top of a rack mounted shelf, along with a 2 bay Netgear Nas that I use to stream movies throughout the house.

Does anyone have a pick of their Telco/Security closets? or even just your M1 install? I am interested in everyones ideas on how to lay everything out.

Thanks in advance for your time!

apostolakisl,

Thanks for the reply, I knew there was something I was missing. I will go ahead and order the m1xep this week. I also had already planned to get the Elk module. As for the 994, what would be the main benefit in upgrading to the 994?

I think you already ordered it as per your first post. You only need one m1xep. This is the ethernet module.
