Scyto Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I know there is DSClink - which shows the demand, but it needs a running PC, which I don't want and is why I bought the ISY, Any chance of a formal plugin for the DSC power series. I for one would be willing to pay for it?
io_guy Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I know there is DSClink - which shows the demand, but it needs a running PC You could run it on a Raspberry Pi. $35, the size of the ISY, and only burns a couple watts.
Scyto Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 I know, was trying to reduce the number of components and fragility. also since I posted the comment above I have installed and activated my ISY and setup DSClink. I get that io_guy wrote it for himself and not others but the documentation is nearly impenetrable which I am sure is stalling adoption. Not to mention while I can now do home automation activities I don't have the nice WAF (wife acceptance factor) of being able to use an app like mobilinc. I guess I should have bought an ELK alarm or gone elsewhere other than the ISY994i
phantom1b Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 There may be a workaround for the DSC power series panels most of the time I just want ISYi99 to tell me that a forgot to arm the security panel for the night, so doing some programing on the DSC adding a PGM output to I/O linc then some programing on ISY to flash a Light at sometime of night ( not sure how to do that yet) but I'm sure ISY can do it. Arming the system using ISY would be a little more difficult, you would have to program (on the DSC) an input as a keyswitch arming "zone type" then the system would arm in stay mode unless you opened the entry/exit door, if you did then the system would change to away mode (all the motions on the system) would arm.
