Interrupting audio when the app is launched

Featured Replies

Wes, since the latest update to the Mobilinc app, whenever I launch the app, it interrupts my music for about 3 seconds. Is there a way to disable that? I'm assuming it is because of the new voice control so I've disabled all voice control in the settings of the app but it still interrupts the music.

Any advice?

Thanks!

mitch236,

Try force quitting MobiLinc and then see if you still get the interruption if you don't turn the mic on. If the mic was turned on at one point, then this will indeed happen. There's a lot of complex audio code under the hood at play here. Plus this seems to be more common on 7.1 vs 7.0.

We'll investigate if there's a way around this behavior.

I've tried everything but I can't launch the MobiLinc app without the audio dropping out from Spotify. I'm using an iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1. I use the phone in my car to play music through the lightning cable attached to the car's audio. As soon as I launch MobiLinc, the music stops and doesn't restart until I switch apps back to Spotify and hit the play icon. Can I uninstall the voice module and keep my other modules?

Hi mitch236,

This undesirable behavior was introduced in a recent update to address sound issues with iOS 7.1. We have this fixed in our labs and are working to finalize the next release. If all goes well, we should be submitting the next update to Apple for approval next week.

Hi Mitch,

4.00.10 is now available from the App Store. 4.00.10 should address the sound interruption issue reported.

Am running 4.00.10 and starting mobilinc stops any playing podcast or radio broadcast. I don't have the voice plugin. What can I do to prevent mobilinc from doing that in this version?

johnnyt,

This should only happen if you navigate to an IP Camera that plays audio. If you are finding 4.00.10 is stopping your other audio streams and you are not navigating to an IP Camera, please respond back with the following:

-What iOS device(s) does this occur?

-Which MobiLinc app? Pro, HD, OML?

-What are the exact steps we can do to reproduce the behavior?

Wes

I don't have any IP cameras.

Am using an iPad mini with iOS 7.1.1 and Mobilinc HD.

To reproduce: start an audio Podcast (using Apple's Podcast app) then start Mobilinc.

Once Mobilinc is running, bringing Mobilinc back to the foreground (e.g. after restarting my podcast) does NOT cause the audio to stop.

Thanks johnnyt,

It looks like we missed a path in our 4.00.10 update. MobiLinc HD on the iPad (mini or full) will stop the background audio when first launching. After that initial launch the background audio will play on subsequent launches.

We've got this fixed and will be in our next release.

Thanks for the details and report.

Hi johnnyt,

FYI: 4.00.11 is now available in the App Store and it fixes the iPad background audio issue you reported.
