Of course I'm new to home automation. Ihave installed 4 2477 switchlincs, I have a ISY 994 and a 8 button keypad. The keypad is in my bedroom and I want to have each button control 1 light so I know if they are on or not and be able to shut them off from there, I created a scene for each button and it works the way I wanted, was that the best way to get the job done ? any advice

That is the way to do it. Scenes between devices is the most direct, fastest way to accomplish task.

 

Each Scene should have a SwitchLinc and a KeypadLinc button as Controllers. Both devices can operate the load and both devices reflect the status of the load.
