Isy can't communicate with light, but keypad can

I set up a 8 button keypad to control my kitchen light which has an inline linc connected to it. Its been working great for about 4 month, all of a sudden the motion detection 5 minute shutoff that I programmed wasn't working.

 

I logged into my isy and it says it can't communicate with the inline linc, but the keypad still is able to turn the light on and off. I did querry and it found the light, but then when my motion sensor program to shut the light off after 5 minutes of no movement should have turned the light off, isy again said it can't communicate with the inline linc.

 

I suppose I should also say that my isy cant communicate with my on/off outdoor module anymore either and this was working great for months as well. Again the 8 button remotelinc 2 keypad is still able to turn on and off the oudoor switch.

 

 

How do I trouble shoot this?

So, it appears that your keypad can communicate with the inlinelinc, but not the PLM. I would start:

 

1) what is the load on the inlinelinc? LED bulb? CFL? If you temporarily unscrew the bulb, does this solve the problem?

2) is the PLM plugged into a surge suppressor or UPS? Is it plugged into an outlet with such devices? If you get an extension cord and plug it into an outlet on another circuit, then plug the PLM into the extension cord, does it solve the problem?

3) anything new electronic gadgets added to your house lately?

Sorry it took so long to reply. I unplugged the isy and plugged it back in, still didn't work. I unplugged the plm and the isy, still didn't work.

 

I then unplugged the isy again for 30 seconds and then it started working again, it has been able to communicate with the inline linc and the outdoor switch since then. Perhaps it was the waiting 30 seconds that worked.

These all sound like great things to try, if I continue to have issues i'll try to do some trouble shooting and post back with my findings.
