barkster
I finally got my EZIO8SA going and weird thing is, I have my test circuit plugged into Relay 8 on the control but when I am in my 994i and toggle relay 8 it doesn't do anything but if I toggle relay 7 my circuit operates as expected. Is this typical that they are not mapped correctly? Link to comment
Brian H
That is a known issue and it is the EZIO8SA's problem not the ISY controllers. http://smartenit.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=902&sid=ecdadc349074b8fe7e50026b7befab1e Link to comment
barkster
Hey Thanks, at least I know it's not me. Funny thing is, I just happened to choose the relay 8 for my very first testing and it threw me off for a bit, I could hear relay coming on and off but took me a minute to figure out what was going on. At least it's an easy fix. Link to comment
Brian H
I don't know when the problem started. My real early EZIO8SA does not have this issue. Relay 7 is 7 and relay 8 is 8. Link to comment

larryllix
That thing has a 1wire port on it??? Does it work? Properly? Is it a hardware interface? What does it do with the data? Could this be a heating system designer's dream? Link to comment
LeeG
It worked the last time I tried but have nothing on day to day usage. The ISY does not support configuration of the 1-wire information. The EZIO8SA supports a single 1-wire device. Link to comment
Brian H
The small users manual for the EZIO8SA says it is programmed for a Dallas Semiconductor. DS18B20 temperature sensor. It also indicates the connection are documented on the Smartenit wiki. The older archived manual I have shows the connections. Well it must be hidden real well as I could not find it there. Actually I didn't see anything in their wiki related to the Insteon modules they manufacture. Only their new Zigbee and related devices. Link to comment
barkster
from everything I've read the 1 wire doesn't work with the ezio8sa and 994i, I wish someone could prove me wrong. i ordered a ds18b20 but was dissapointed to find it won't work Link to comment
LeeG
The ISY does not support configuration of the Analog Inputs 5,6 and 7. The Analog information has to be set using the Simplehomenet Utility Suite (free download) . Input 7 (1-wire) will indicate On or Off based on the temp read from the 1-wire sensor versus the Analog ranges set for input 7. Link to comment
larryllix
It's just too bad that Dallas didn't make anything standard for these cute 1wire sensors so that we could plug in any new 1wire device that comes along and a standard device-control-block would just assume the position/data. Now every driver writer supporter has to incorporate a huge library of profiles for all these devices. Then again the complete openness of the beast is probably what makes it so capable and powerful. Eg. EPROM memory at the end a 1wire? Link to comment
