edokid Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) Is there a setting that is better for the garage door opener? I see options like Program Lock, Key Beep, LED on TX, Relay Follows Input, Send X10, Trigger Reverse, Momentary hold time, then Latching, Momentary A, B or C. The door works right now as is on C and was on B before I think, but only sending the On command would open the door which I think might be normal. My issue is more with MobiLinc it always shows On and Off, so to use MobiLinc to control the door I have to press the Icon to make it go On, the door opens, then to close I have to press it again to make it go off, then press it again to On to make the door close. If I wanted to reopen it's the same thing, press to make it go off, then again to go On. Is there a way to set it so that devices and so on only send On and can't send an Off mainly MobiLinc? Not sure if this is a MobiLinc issue or something set in the ISY. I suppose I could write a program that says if Control Garage Door Control is ON, wait 2 seconds and set status garage door control to OFF. Thanks! Edited September 24, 2014 by edokid
edokid Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Answered my own question lol. Just wrote a quick one: If Status "Garage Door Control" is On Then Wait 3 Seconds Set "Garage Door Control" Off Else Set "Garage Door Control" Off Works great.
oberkc Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 The best settings are, partially, dependent on how one intends to control the IOLinc. Other settings are more universal. One most certainly should use momentary mode. Whether using A, B, or C depends on other factors. Personally, i use a keypad button to trigger the door, set to non-toggle ON mode, withIOLinc set to respond to ON commands (momentary C?). Some settings are dependent on how you have the sensor wired and the type of sensor. Status of the relay is not always accurate. The relay is not a controller capable, so it does not transmit status. Displayed status is typically the last command sent...not necessarily accurate. I do not find relay status to be anything useful. Regarding mobilinc, i believe it is best to use scenes to trigger. Look at the sensor node to determine door status.
stusviews Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 For most garage doors, the relay operates momentarily, so the status of the relay is useless except to indicate that the garage door is moving (i.e., not open, not closed). We have two garages, so I use two KPL buttons with a red diffuser behind each. The corresponding button is lit when the garage door is open and unlit when closed. The magnetic switch (door position sensor) is open when the door is closed. The I/O Linc sends an On signal to the KPL button when the door starts to open and an Off when it's fully closed. The KPL button is set to Non-toggle On. The I/O Linc is set to momentary B so that no matter if the button is in or out of sync, a single press will always operate the garage door.

That is exactly how I handled it for use with MobiLinc except I just use a 1 second Wait. ~Mike
