Teken Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) With the introduction of 4.X.X firmware the ISY is able to change the color of the programs based on their current *known* condition. The other day I created three new programs to track the temperature in various parts of my home. Upon saving the new programs (it appears to me anyways) that the newly created program is a shade of off blue?? As far as I am aware there are two colors that being red / green. They can be either partially shaded, or fully shaded to reflect the operation of the program. Is the color blue something new and if so what does it mean?? Wild guess its a new program?? This image capture was just done a few moments ago so it no longer shows the high lighted red square as blue but is now green. As I have come to expect. Edited November 17, 2014 by Teken
LeeG Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 All my Programs have a light Blue box. Vertical Green bar on left side, Status is True Solid Green, program is running with True Status Vertical Red bar on left side, Status is False Solid Red, program is running with False Status Small Red circle with slash in lower right corner, program is Disabled Using the Summary page, the Enabled, Activity, and Status columns provide the same information. May be other conditions that affect the program Icon but these are most common.

stusviews Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) Nope, no blue at all. Edit: not even when renaming a folder. Edited November 17, 2014 by stusviews

I'm going to replicate what I did yesterday. Perhaps this is because I *Copied* an existing program to save me time from doing it from scratch.

May be a difference in the Java UI for Mac/Win. -Xathros
Teken Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) I dunno, tried everything as I did last night and no blue to be seen. Must have been the Vodka Coolers! Edited November 17, 2014 by Teken
Teken Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 Teken Different then mine? See attachment LeeG, Nope, mine looks exactly like yours now. Except last night the folders left side instead of being a green stripe was blue. All of the programs were the correct color showing running, true / not true, etc. I dunno sorry for wasting every ones time.
LeeG Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I only looked at Programs, will look into Folders tonight.

Teken Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 OK, it finally happen again and I was able to take a screen capture so I wasn't drunk after all! I added both before and after so those who have some insight can ponder this odd behavior.
Teken Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) So just moments ago the folders have changed color again? I am not sure if this is related to those annoying socket errors I see from time to time. I have never had any issues making a back up image before in previous releases. But, now when I perform a back up I see several of these time out socket whatever error messages. It makes me doubt the quality of the back ups being produced and generated by the system. As I have noted during several Beta releases, the message from UDI indicates certain firmware levels did not create proper back ups. Am I safe to assume no one knows why the folder is a different color not listed or known to any human being on this board?? Edited March 6, 2015 by Teken
Xathros Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I certainly have no idea why your program folders have the blues. I have yet to see that on either of my ISYs. As for the socket errors - don't worry. I believe they are unrelated to the backup process. I see this as well. You and I both have l network connections to the ISY from external devices making frequent calls and these can suffer when the ISY is busy doing other things (like backing up). The console will throw up a notice about these failures. The backup should still be progressing underneath the error dialog. If you stop those external devices from connecting and backup again, you should see few to none of those errors. In no case have these messages resulted in a bad backup (or restore) for me. -Xathros

You're correct after clearing the nag prompt the back up does appear to continue even if its much slower to progress. I believe as part of my SOP is to stop all network connections for those few moments while this process is underway. The 2-7 minutes isn't going to kill me . . . As for the folder color, I am going to just monitor it and see if anything negative comes out of it. As far as I can tell it isn't impacting the system from operating at all. I really wish a legend would be provided in the system as to what the colors mean when they appear. This would assist new users and those who don't enter the Admin Console on a consistent basis. Scouring the forums for a cryptic phrase in hopes of finding out what it means is a process to insanity at times. This is why I am a strong supporter of standardized naming conventions and titles, with tags! Edited March 6, 2015 by Teken
