Failing to add On/Off Outdoor Module

Just trying to add/initialize a new 2634-222 (v.42) module.  I have it plugged-in inside my house (trying to get it setup).

 

When I try to add it, it never completes.  Always seems to fail at the "Writing High Water Byte" step.

 

Are there some troubleshooting options, or should I send it back?  ISY994i is updated with latest fw.

When I have trouble communicating, one of the early steps I take is to plug the suspect device into the same outlet as the PLM. I also assume your PLM is not plugged into an outlet with lots of other devices.

Well, I do have many other Insteon modules in my house that are communicating without any known errors, and I had a LampLinc module plugged into that exact socket previously that had no known issues.

Run the Event Viewer at LEVEL 3 to trace detail and post.

In my experience if the write always fails at the same point, then try a factory reset, remove it from the console, and then add it back. Most of the time that does it. But if it still does the same thing, usually the device itself has a problem.  I realize yours is new, but some of the early OutdoorLincs were definitely a little off in the head and I don't know how long that stock sits around.
