raymondh Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Do I have to relink all my z-wave devices if I update the firmware? I'm asking because it was a pain to get some of the distant door locks to link but now that they are, they communicate just fine.
andyf0 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 If you're talking about updating the ISY firmware to 4.2.18 then no you don't. If you're updating the Z-Wave dongle firmware then yes you do, in fact you should exclude every device before updating.
Guest Digger Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Why do you have to exclude all of the zwave devices before updating the zwave dongle. It could take hours to reinclude them and rewrite the programs. I have never heard of this with any other controller. I had to move the ISY all around the house to add devices etc ( did nit have to for VERA ir Homeseer). Dont want to have to do that again for existing devices. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Jimbo.Automates Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 UDI posted about this a few days ago. Currently there is not a good way to backup the Zwave configuration because it is extremely slow. They are working on adding that ability. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Guest Digger Posted December 14, 2014 Posted December 14, 2014 Correct but that does not mean you have to exclude all devices to update. Just you won't have a backup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
