Linking and Unlinking from the ISY

How convenient would it be to put a device in a linking - unlinking mode from the ISY?

 

That barn light you need to link with something else, in the middle of the winter, blizzard conditions, at night...eeesssshhhh!

 

Attic to basement, you get the idea.

Yes, I know I can link - unlink the devices with the ISY...I'm talking hard code.

Joe, the ISY creates the hard links. Once you use the ISY to link the barn attic light to the switchlinc, keypadlinc, etc. the ISY can be disconnected and the links will still work.
