dpmenzer Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 So, I was trying to be a little proactive, so this weekend I replaced my old PLM with a piggy back access point with a new dual band PLM. Then the trouble started. I have several 6 button KPLs that run scenes. After installing the new PLM I can control the lights attached to the KPLs, but the 4 buttons I use for scenes are completely disfunctional. In fact, when I press one, I see zero activity on the Activity Monitor. I have factory reset a KPL as a test, no change, and since it is several (all that I have installed) KPLs behaving this way I don't believe it is due to hardware. Any suggestions, I need to fix this as my wife now leaves all the lights on all night long! Thanks Dave
LeeG Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Did you follow the Wiki instructions for replacing PLM? Powered down PLM, powered down ISY Installed new PLM and powered it up Powered up ISY Did a File | Restore Modem (PLM) It is most important that ISY was powered down before installing new PLM. Otherwise ISY will not know about new PLM Also NEVER do a Delete Modem (PLM)
dpmenzer Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Lee, Thanks, and yes, I followed your instructions to install a new PLM religiously, hence my confusion on it not working. Again, the odd part is only the 4 central buttons appear to be non-functional. The lights attached to the KPL work locally and from the ISY console. The programs attached to the KPL buttons run correctly, if I launch from the console (run if or then). But in the Event Viewer I see nothing, even at Level 3 when I press a KPL button (the A-D buttons).
LeeG Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 dpmenzer If interested in taking an active analysis of problem, right click on KeypadLinc primary node (ONOFF) select Diagnostics | Show Device Links Table. Post the displayed image. Either the KPL or PLM is missing link records.
dpmenzer Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 Removing and replacing fixed the issue. Really appreciate the prompt help here from all.
