Unable to write updates to Synchrolinc

After swapping PLM's, I am unable to write updates to a single v.30 Synchrolinc. I've tried factory resetting, restoring device, and writing updates repeatedly, and the result is always the same:

It still seems to work fine - it is not directly linked to any other devices, only used in programs, which are operating normally, so the PLM is clearly aware of its state. Any thoughts anyone? Thanks!

This will explain what happened but not why. To update a link record three commands are used,

Set MSB - Set Most Significant Byte of memory address

Peek - establish low order byte of address and read that byte

Poke - store new data into that byte

All of these commands use Standard Definition (SD) messages with a Standard Definition response

The issue is the SynchroLinc is responding with an Extended message which may contain SynchroLinc data

When a single unexpected Extended message is received the ISY retries the command. If two Extended messages are received the ISY terminates the update.

The Extended message is not documented that I could find. If the SynchroLinc is connected to something being monitored I would remove those connections and see if the updates complete.

That did it...removing the load from the Synchrolinc got the update to write successfully. I had tried resetting it, but never with the load unplugged...duh. :oops: Thanks!!

Thanks for the update. Apparently the SynchroLinc reports data changes during updates. Have not seen that with my SynchroLinc but it has always been disconnected when doing updates. Learn something new all the time.
