Scyto Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I notice the mobilinc energy only pulls in the z-wave energy devices. I am able to pull my brultech whole house energy (multiple channels) into the ISY, is there any plan to surface this information up in mobilinc?
Teken Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 If you're pushing the energy readings via Zigbee from the GEM to the ISY it does indeed show a pie chart (KWH) for devices. I am not sure if its just the iPhone but what information that is represented isn't really that impressive. Maybe the iPad shows more information as it does with options? Obviously more work needs to be done in the Mobilinc App with respect to the energy aspect. Perhaps the next generation of the App will provide more charts, graphs, and options. The current (iPhone) offering is not very compelling to say the least.
InsteonNut Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Hi Scyto, You should see all your Brultech channels appear in MobiLinc under the "Energy" page where you can look at instant usage per channel. If you subscribe to MobiLinc Connect along with our energy package you'll gain the following historical charts per energy channel: - 2 hour - 24 Hour - 30 Days - Year Teken, The current (iPhone) offering is not very compelling to say the least. Can you be more specific? What charts/options are you looking for that aren't addressed by our above historical chart options? Wes

My expectation is having a more interactive awareness with the energy consumption. Like have the ability to receive push alerts based on set thresholds. Having the same graphs and charts you outlined above etc. Being able to set colors for loads along with perhaps have the App change color if a set level is fast approaching the users requirements. The reality is energy monitoring is not sexy! But gather with your talent and skills you could make it very sexy! Essentially I am looking for more interaction with the data and how it's displayed along with meaningful alerts so reactive elements can be called upon. These are just some of my thoughts and thank you as always for your time. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent
InsteonNut Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks Teken, Agreed, energy monitoring/viewing is not sexy. Thanks for the comments and feedback. As I look into changes here I'll keep these in mind. FYI: All of the historical energy charts from 2 hours back to a year+ will appear when you have MobiLinc Connect and the energy management add-on. Both are needed because our servers record the energy the ISY reports as fast as the ISY can produce it for each energy channel. MobiLinc then works with our service to generate the rich historical charts for energy perspective over time. More interactive features like notifications for certain events are definitely interesting. Wes

Wes I am not pushing with zigbee, I am using the IP configuration built into the brultech energy module plugin on the ISY, this shows the energy readings in the ISY console on the page where one configures the settings, that data is never surfaced in mobilinc that I can see. I don't have a zigbee ISY because I have the zwave module.
