bgrubb1 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I have 3 identical Trane TZEMT400BB32 Thermostats All 3 have code version 1.01.40, Zwave version 2.00.09 All 3 were working fine together on a Vera 3 network I was attempting to move them one at a time from the Vera to my new ISY994 The first one Included to the ISY fine after moving the ISY VERY close to the thermostat Number 2 is the issue, don't want to move 3 until I understand Does anyone have more than one of these thermostats on their ISY Zwave network ? Number 2 excluded fine from the Vera that apparently has a Zwave home ID of f7.d4.ec.85 I have tried multiple times to include number 2 on the ISY Each time I do, it takes on the home id of d3.c1.df.1c which matches number one, so number 2 has the ISY network Each time the Znode increases by 1 the Log information is ..... Thanks in advance ...Barry
danbutter Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 You said you excluded from vera...did you exclude from isy too? Unintuitive zwave behavior, but it has been reported many times with many controllers. Exclude before you include. Maybe that will help.
bgrubb1 Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Multiple times Believe this unit started out as Zwave unit 29, I am up to 37 I have tried so many excludes / includes If it wasn't excluded, I don't believe it would get that far in the include before crashing
Mike Ippolito Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I've checked with our manufacturer contact to see if there is any anomalies with this version. Awaiting a reply....
Mike Ippolito Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I'd recommend trying again by removing thermostat one and putting thermostat two in its place, then pair it. Then put thermostat two back in its place. You should be able to pair thermostat three in its final location with the other two added if not move thermostat 3 to location one and pair again. I confirmed the Z–wave communications of these thermostats are identical to a RCS TZ45 and they work flawlessly in every situation I've run across. Sorry for brevity - posted using mobile Tapatalk
Jimbo.Automates Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I agree. I have 6 of the Trane's and the ones that could talk directly to the ISY added with no problems. If they couldn't, then I swapped with one that could, included it, then moved to its final location and ran a heal network.
bgrubb1 Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 Well that makes no sense at all. When I had thermostat #2 3 inches from the ISY it would not include. When I moved it to the location of thermostat #2 to the location of number 1 and put the isy 3 inches away it included fine. Same with thermostat # 3 There has to be something driving that behavior After the heal 1 and 2 work fine, 3 still cant communicate, I assume that is a zwave network thing, will play with that thank your for all the help and would love an explanation ..Barry
Mike Ippolito Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Barry, You might want to take a look at what ELSE is on your z-wave network that might be causing communication issues. Can you please post the results of the following command for one of the thermostats that are working correctly? (1 or 2) Open up event viewer, clear it then show full info and paste here

Mike Ippolito Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Looks like a robust network! By any chance are some of these devices GE Jasco? Sorry for brevity - posted using mobile Tapatalk
bgrubb1 Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 at the time, there were 3 Ge/Jasco duplex outlets in the network. I have since found they were sending transmit errors for no good reason and have taken them out of the network. I do still have some Ge light switches and dimmers, but have not seen issues with them. Why do you ask ?? ..Barry
Mike Ippolito Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 This is by no means scientific, but I have found that after several tests having my first gen Jasco outdoor module on my network was a problem. Any device that had it as a neighbor would fail. Once removed my network worked flawlessly. Sorry for brevity - posted using mobile Tapatalk
