Setting ramp rate?

Featured Replies

Posted

Ok - making my way along... currently have a few things set up and generally working pretty nicely.

However - I can't figure out how to set ramp rate. (I'm hoping to do this from the Java app.)

The two switches I'm trying to set are both Leviton DZPD3-1LWs. In the instructions for the ISY, it seems to say that the ramp rate can be adjusted via sliders  - but I don't see that anywhere. (Yet...)

Is this correct? If so, where is the setting actually?

thanks,

Andrew

You sure your dimmers support ramp rate adjustment? I know Insteon dimmers do, but never seen a Z Wave dimmer to support that.

Oh, maybe not... didn't know until now that z-wave dimmers might not have this feature...

The GE/Jasco dimmer switches have the ability to adjust the ramp rate but is accessed via several configuration parameters. To calculate a specific ramp rate is quite complex and the instructions that come with the switch are difficult to figure out. I actually wanted instant on/off and spent a lot of time figuring it out.

Andyf0, thanks! I pulled GE dimmer manual and yeah - they have the ability to adjust rate by setting variables - 7,8 and 9,10 in this case http://www.lowes.com/campaign/iris/pdf/45639%20manual%20ENG.pdf

Defaults look like 1% every 30ms which should mean 3s ramp rate?

Andrew, can you tell us your exact dimmer model? Is manual available online? See if manual says anything about variables to control the rate.
