Anyone know how to create a "Today Screen" iOS widget to run a program?

I have Mobilinc on my iPhone via iOS and I am fully aware that if I subscribe to their "connect cloud service" I can create a widget on the today screen to active a program. However I don't need the other features. I just need one item that runs an enable/disable command for one device. I already own Moblinc and the UD ISY Network Resource Module. Does anyone know how I can do this?

I was looking at the "Launcher" app on iTunes for the iPhone as it will add today screen widgets, which got me thinking that maybe I can setup a network resource command through the internet using it? Or maybe using IFTTT/DO buttons? Any thoughts or help are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm using the new CtrlHome app to create Today widgets that set state vars in the ISY.  Then I have my programs react to the change in the state var, run then reset the var for next use.  Only issue right now is this only works when on my LAN as there is no https support in CtrlHome yet.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Xathros for the info. This app looked like it would fit the bill but it requires firmware 8.2 and up but Im using a JB 8.1. I have AT&T with the grandfathered "unlimited" data plan and they wont let me use my phone as a hot spot unless I downgrade my data plan. I use my phone as a hot spot quite regularly while traveling with my laptop and ipad. Oh the conundrum! Lol any other ideas?

Have you tried some sort of VPN autoconnection fro your iOS devices?

I've tried some apps and they work pretty well, assuming you have a Vpn capable router.

Haven't tried anything to autoconnect the VPN but it does work over a VPN connection.

It worked very well for me, you don't need to open "holes"* in your firewall and iOS connect automatically when requested by the apps.

You may want to take a look to see how to create the auto connect profiles http :// www.derman.com/blogs/iOS-IPSec-VPN-OnDemand-Setup

(It works not only with IP-Sec, tried with distinct protocols)

*assuming a good firewall/Vpn protection.
