heyfrank Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Hey everyone Hoping someone can help address and situation I'm having. I recently switched my IOLINC from Momentary A to Momentary C in the ISY and have added 2 Scenes, one as a Garage Door Relay and one as a Garage Door Status scene. I also use a Keypad to control the Garage Door to open and close, as well as see the status of the garage. Everything oddly worked well in Momentary A mode, with Trigger Reversed checked in options. Here is how my scene is set up: Garage Door Relay Keypad Button F added as Controller Garage Relay added as Responder Garage Door Status Keypad Button F added as Responder Garage Sensor added as Controller When I goto the scene Garage Door Relay in the ISY and send an On command, it shows each device is turned On. But the Garage Door does not open. If I goto the device itself Garage Door, and hit and On command, it will open. If I hit On again on the device itself, it will close the door. Any help would be great! I'm trying to bring this over to my iRule config through REST commands at the end of the day and am not sure why Momentary C is giving me such trouble. Thanks! Frank
LeeG Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 "If I goto the device itself Garage Door, and hit and On command, it will open. If I hit On again on the device itself, it will close the door. " This is normal operation for a Direct command. Only Scenes are affected/controlled by Momentary mode command rules. "When I goto the scene Garage Door Relay in the ISY and send an On command, it shows each device is turned On. But the Garage Door does not open." The I/O Linc Relay will either only Open the door with an On command or only Close the door with an On command when using Momentary C mode in combination with the Sensor Status. Suggest Open the garage door and send a Scene On command to see if I/O Linc relay is configured to Close door with On command.

New problem, I found out I have the 3 wire magnetic sensor, I had it originally hooked up to Green with Red tied together with Black (G) for some reason. I cut green loose and tied red to where green was as the (S) Sense wire to the IOLinc. My other wires are hooked up to NO(Normally Open) and COM (Common). Is this correct?
LeeG Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Black to GND Either Red to S if Sensor should be On when door open or Green to S if Sensor should be On when door closed Tape unused Red or Green wire. Com and NO go to door opener

It seems like when I turn the scene off from the ISY, it will open the door, and if i turn the scene On from the ISY then it shuts the door. The sensor reports it's off when the garage is shut, but the relay reports its "ON" and never changes. Any ideas before I drive myself crazy? Ps. Double checked the wiring, and it is exactly as described in your post
LeeG Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Click on Scene name that has I/O Linc Relay as Responder. Set the Scene Relay On Level to 0%.
heyfrank Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Click on Scene name that has I/O Linc Relay as Responder. Set the Scene Relay On Level to 0%. Ok just tried this, set it to 0% and it now shows as off (Garage is closed). It seems that the slider although did reset it self to 100%, this is normal i assume. I have my keypadlinc set to Non-Toggle-ON is this correct as well? It is a controller of the scene with the relay as a responder, and a responder to the scene with the sensor as the controller... I was having problems earlier trying to get it to sync correctly to the open or close of the garage. Thanks for all your time, i appreciate it.
LeeG Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Image is of Scene with Relay On Level set to 0% On Level. The Scene On command Opens the door, the Scene Off command Closes the door. If there are additional Red Controllers of the Scene, click on each Red Controller below the Scene name. Set the I/O Linc Relay to 0% On Level to have an On command from the Controller open the door and an Off command close door. Each Controller must have the Relay with 0% On Level for the On and Off commands do the same thing as sending Scene name On and Off commands.
heyfrank Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 So even the keypadlinc in the scene should be set to on level 0%? Here are some screenshots from mine if you don't mind taking a look to see if there is anything wrong or I'm missing from it...
LeeG Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 The Garage Door Scene, the Garage Door-Relay Responder slider should be 0% On Level. Set to 100% On Level you have seen commands issues against Garage Door Scene perform opposite to what you say you want. The Garage Door Scene lists the Garage Door-Relay as a Responder. That slider should be set to 0% On Level to have the Garage Door Scene On open the door. The image with Living Room Keypad - F in Red below Garage Door Scene was not posted. Click on Red Living Room Keypad - F and set Garage Door - Relay to 0% On Level. This is necessary for the On command from button F to open door.
heyfrank Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Would this be correct then? The device "Garage Door - Relay" will not stay on 0% for me, every time I click out of the scene it goes back up to 100%
LeeG Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 You have a Java issue. The Relay slider must stay at 0% On Level for the Scene name and Red button F as a Controller. Are there any additional Icons along side of Relay or KPL button F under Main device list? Click Help | About, what is displayed for Firmware? what is displayed for UI?
stusviews Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 After discovering that you have a 3-wire sensor, did you set the I/O Linc up for the sensor LED to be lit or unlit when the garage door is closed?
LeeG Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 As a side note, don't spend time evaluating the posted Relay Status. First, the Relay is a Responder Only. It does not report back to the ISY when the Relay turns Off. Second, regardless whether the Scene is sent an On or Off command, the I/O Linc MUST turn the Relay On to initiate any door movement, open or close. If the door moves the Relay was turned On regardless of the Scene command sent to the I/O Linc.

The Green LED on the IOLinc is off/not lit when the door is closed. What does this mean? Is this correct?

LeeG Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) You are running a 99i. That is both Discontinued and past End of Life. I cannot offer any suggestion on how to get the sliders to work. The Icon question was associated to the actual device definition for the I/O Linc and KPL. Was thinking an update may have been pending against one of the devices until the post showed using 99i. The Green LED being Off when door closed is correct. Edited June 10, 2015 by LeeG
stusviews Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) The Green LED on the IOLinc is off/not lit when the door is closed. What does this mean? Is this correct? Correct is a matter of preference. Like most others, I prefer that the status LED be lit when the garage door is open. Here's my configuration: I use one scene for both control and status. Controllers (red) CRM C or D: Mini Remote buttons, one for each garage DR Side Door E of F: KPL buttons, one for each garage GG Garage 1 or 2: I/O Linc Sensor Responder (blue) GG Garage 1 or 2: I/O Linc Sensor I/O Linc options Relay Follows Input Momentary B (even if the button is out-of-sync, pressing it will operate the garage door KPL button option Non-Toggle [On] (the I/O Linc lights the LED when the garage door is open and turns off the LED if the garage door is closed) Edited June 11, 2015 by stusviews

The Green LED being Off when door closed is correct. As Lee mentioned, you have the old 99i, but also you are using the UI that is newer. You need to install the UI that matches your firmware version. That could be why you have issues with adjusting the slider. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
