hutchyx Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I recently purchased a bunch of leak sensors. Some are v41 and others are v43. I understand the v43 sensors. I place the leads in water and the Wet node changes to On. I don't understand the v41 sensors. I can't seem to get the Wet node to activate when placing the leads in water. What am I missing here?
LeeG Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) The V.43 Leak Sensor stays Wet=On once it detects a wet condition. The V.41 Leak Sensor cycles back to Dry when no longer Wet. Edited July 8, 2015 by LeeG
hutchyx Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 The V.43 Leak Sensor stays Wet=On once it detects a wet condition. The V.41 Leak Sensor cycles back to Dry when no longer Wet. I've read that. I can't even get the v41 sensors wet to turn on when they're sitting in a puddle.
Teken Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) Just wanted to provide you some reference material located here: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/14895-insteon-leak-sensor-2852-222-review/ It should be noted that many people have seen over lapping behavior even with the (supposedly) same hardware / ISY firmware release. If you're seeing a quick flicker of the leak sensor LED, and also seeing the wet node toggle back from on to off. Its imperative that you use the Leak Sensor program created by Belias which is referenced in the above link. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/14828-leak-sensor-stays-wet/ Edited July 8, 2015 by Teken
LeeG Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) hutchyx I would try a fresh battery. Is this city/treated water? They remove much of what a Leak Sensor uses to detect water. Does the LEVEL 3 Event Trace show any indication of the Wet/Dry nodes cycling since the v.41 does not lock in a Wet condition. Edited July 8, 2015 by LeeG
