PhanTomiZ Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Haven't done much all summer with my ISY and I can't believe I'm this rusty... I've created a scene with an On/Off module (closing and opening my N/O main water shutoff valve) and a leak sensor-wet. Added the leak sensor as a controller and the On/Off module as a responder. When I hit the set button once on the leak sensor, it sets the leak sensor as wet-on and the On/Off module goes on. When I hit the set button again on the leak sensor, it sets the leak sensor as wet-off but the On/Off module stays on. I would like for the On/Off module to follow the leak sensor wet conditions. I know I can do this using a program, but was hoping I could do it with a scene... What did I do wrong? Thanks once again in advance PhanTomiZ
LeeG Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 (edited) Although the ISY marks the Wet node Off the Leak Sensor did not send that command. The Leak Sensor sent a Dry On so the ISY marked the Wet node Off. Marking the Wet node Off in the ISY does not generate a Scene Off command. You can run a LEVEL 3 event viewer to see that the Leak Sensor did not send an Off message for the Wet node. Edited September 23, 2015 by LeeG
larryllix Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Just receiving two new Leak sensors and having two previous I have found they operate quite differently. On the two newer units (v.41) the pushbutton sends out Dry On, every time. On the two older units (v.43) the pushbutton sends out Wet On for a quick tap each time and Dry On for a longer push each time.

I thought I saw it somewhere, but I can't find it when I need it. Terrible thing this getting old..... Anyway, here is the event viewer...Can you tell me what it means? LeeG Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 The DON 4 is the Heartbeat test message. If there is a pause between taps whether the DON 1 or DON 2 test is sent, the DON 4 will follow. This is the expected response. Latest Leak Sensor firmware does not send the Heartbeat test message with the Set button.
larryllix Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 (edited) All three of my leak sensors are (v.41). Noticed that if: I tap once, I get a DON 1 I tap again, I get a DON 2 But if I tap once, I get a DON 1 If I leave it for about 5 seconds, I get a DON 4 Thanks I assume a DON 1/2 would be a wet/dry signal. What would a DON 4 be? Perhaps a heartbeat? Maybe I got fooled. Did you try the short and long press. I found anything longer than about 1/2 second a long press. Edit: I saw your LeeG response above. LeeG Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 "So does this mean I won't be able to use a scene, but rather a program to shut the water off in the event of a flood/leak detected?" Correct. The Leak Sensor does not send a Dry Off nor a Wet Off. It sends Dry On or Wet On only at your firmware. Later firmware sends a Wet On only. The latest Leak Sensor firmware does not cycle back to Dry On if the condition goes back to Dry.

Thanks PhanTomiZ
LeeG Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 (edited) Not that I have seen. One of the issues is that to understand the event viewer requires a knowledge of Insteon. I doubt UDI ever plans on that level of information. Need to look at SmartLabs documents to learn/understand Insteon. Edited September 23, 2015 by LeeG

LeeG Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Can you indicate which codes you are looking for additional infor, Insteon itself, ISY info.
