Interface with Amazon Echo?

Still no success setting a thermostat even though I change the name from Main Thermostat to Main Weather. Alexa seems to recognize that it's a thermostat, the reply is always, "Set thermostat mode for which device?"

 

To set a thermostat setpoint, try one of the following utterances (Just ignore the leading SetThermostatSetpoint, which is the intent name):

You need to say "Alexa, tell izzy to <then the command>

 

Alternatively, you could say "open izzy", then say the command while it is listening. But you have to wait for welcome prompt to finish.

 

Otherwise, the skill is not invoked.

 

The refresh can be long, I know. This is due to the fact that it has retrieve the spoken field for each and every devices that you have. 

The skill starts by retrieving your list of devices with GET /rest/nodes

Then for every devices, it check if you have a spoken word using GET /rest/nodes/<address>/note

 

The more devices there are, the more requests there are. Hopefully it will be possible to retrieve it from ISY in a single request, but this is not possible today.

Minor success. I used SetThermostatSetpoint first, named the device (now called Heater) and requested 80º. Alexa asked "Which device?" then, "Which mode?" and finally replied "heater heating setpoint is now set to 80 degrees." The thermostat set point was set to 40º.

 

I reset the thermostat to 75º and repeated the commands. Same result, the thermostat was set to 40º.

 

Update: Me: "Tell Izzy to set heater heating to 80º." Alexa: "heater temperature is 75.50. It is set to heat at 304 degrees." Set point is unchanged.

You don't need Mobilinc Connect but can connect directly with ISY...  I've heard something about getting Mobilinc Connect integrated with the ISY Portal but don't know what's become of it.

Yes... I connect my android (galaxy S4) running Mobilinc directly to ISY via DDNS but have never used Mobilinc Connect.

Currently you CANNOT utilize more than one portal at a time. So it's either ML Connect or the ISY portal. I had the ML Connect portal installed prior to installing the ISY portal. As soon as I installed the ISY portal, the ML Connect portal disappeared.

I am still seeing the same problem as the other day.  If I tell ALexa to open Izzy I get the greeting.  Then one command works.  Nothing else works until I tell Alexa to open Izzy again.  It seems that after one command the skill closes and I have to re-open it.

"Alexa tell Izzy switch entrance on" does not work. "Alexa open Izzy". Greeting plays. "Alexa tell Izzy switch entrance on" and she responds turning on Entrance. Then "Alexa tell Izzy switch entrance off" does not work until I say "Alexa open Izzy" and it's rinse and repeat.

 

Faster/easier to use the wall switch

However, I remember that some thermostat uses values in increments of .5. I had implemented this in HAD a while back.

Currently you CANNOT utilize more than one portal at a time. So it's either ML Connect or the ISY portal. I had the ML Connect portal installed prior to installing the ISY portal. As soon as I installed the ISY portal, the ML Connect portal disappeared.

I don't think you can connect Mobilinc using the ISY Portal but need to connect using DDNS.  Mobilinc setup offers only one password and username and you don't need to specify ports.  I think there is some type of integration planned but not sure of it.  Anyway.. I believe there is a rival to Mobilinc in the works.

I don't have problems when I tell Alexa to do other things that have nothing to do with Izzy. Play music, volume up/down, what's the weather/time all work.

 

I do think that the limitations are on Amazons side and in time they will improve.
