chrishick
Hey guys, I just tried logging into my system remotely and none of my devices are responding. I tried controlling them through the admin console and also through MobiLinc. If I view the event log I can see that the commands were sent out but I don't see any status reply from the device. I'm not at home right now so I'll have to wait until I get home from work to trouble shoot. Any ideas where to start? Thanks, Chris Link to comment
paulbates
Chris You should be able to pull the error log from the admin console where you are. I would start there Paul Link to comment
chrishick
I looked at the error log but it doesn't mean anything to me. I cleared the log and then tried again. This is what it shows. Brian H
If you are using a 2413S PLM and it is over two years old. It may have failed. In the Tools; Diagnostics Tab; PLM Info Status see if it is connected or in the safe mode. Also if the Link Database is empty that is another sign of a failed PLM. Link to comment
chrishick
PLM status shows connected PLM links table is empty Dang..... Link to comment
paulbates
A restore PLM might work for a while. Having said that, I would wait till you get home to try. Paul Link to comment
chrishick
I've never done a PLM restore. Is it as simple as going into the admin console and hitting Restore PLM? Link to comment
LeeG
Yes. It is File | Restore Modem (PLM). Takes a few minutes depending on the number of link records in the PLM. Link to comment
LeeG
Sorry, the Restore Modem (PLM) writes only to the PLM. If the PLM was being replaced all devices would be affected. A simple Restore Modem (PLM) runs in a few minutes with only the PLM being affected. Link to comment
chrishick
Unplugged the PLM for 10 seconds and plugged it back in. Problem solved. Think I need to order a backup tomorrow just in case. Thanks for the help!! Link to comment
paulbates
That can still be a sign of impending failure. I've lost 2 over the years, and it starts something like that. After a few restarts, the link table gets smaller. I would suggest validating your link count Link to comment
chrishick
Yep, that only worked for about 2 hours. Tried a PLM restore to no avail. New PLM will arrive Saturday. Link to comment
Brian H
For those who are handy. There is a thread here on repairing the failed power supply in the 2413S. http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/13866-repair-of-2413s-plm-when-the-power-supply-fails/ The new 2413S should have the updated power supply parts in it.
