Unable to add or remove Z-Wave devices

I have 7 Trane TZEMT400BB32 Z-Wave thermostats that I can’t get to communicate with my ISY994.  They used to, but while having house renovated last winter, I tried to remove from network and was unable, so I deleted them from ISY.  Now I cant get them back.  On stats, when I go to Menu>Wave Install, it says “Remove Thermostat from ZWave Network”.  But that option never changes.  Does anybody have any ideas on how can I get them back?  FYI, I also have a Trane XL824 (TCONT824AS52DA), but that was never part of system, because it does not appear to be compatible. But may be causing problems? We also have Elk M1G integrated.  Thanks in advance!

Just using the ISY to exclude the thermostat won't work. The thermostat needs to be within 6 feet of the ISY. Set the ISY to exclude the thermostat, then follow the thermostat manual to exclude it.

Thanks stusviews!  I was trying it at around 5 feet, but was seeing errors in my Events viewer.  So, I held the ISY right up to the thermostat and it worked! Now I will try to figure out how to include my XL824! :-}
