Which lights on the front of the ISY are either on or blinking

Are you able to control any devices from the ISY

You mentioned that you did an upgrade, what upgrade did you do?

Power light is only light on or blinking

I was in the ISY Admin and in help it said upgrade to whatever version... sorry I don't know which one.  it did a backup then started the upgrade.

no communication with device since

after about 20 minutes I power down the ISY and plugged back in nothing except power light

You need to clear out your Java Cache including applications, then install the current version of the Administrative Console (4.3.26) for the ISY.

You should also remove power from the PLM and the ISY, then power up the PLM, wait about 15 seconds then power up the ISY.

Let me know if that helps.

Check your router and see that it's properly configured...

Jon...

Along with that. check your router and see if the ISY MAC address is showing up. Perhaps ISY has lost it's IP address assignment in the router and/or itself, for some reason. This would mean you are pinging the wrong address.

That's possible only if you happen to know the MAC address or the ISY Finder starts. You may be able to find the ISY by searching the first three groups of hexadecimal digits which are 00:21:B9.

I have scanned the entire network and the device is NOT on the network.  I have software to identify all IPs on network

I have smart network switches and it isn't there

Unless somebody has a better ide and you have a decent backup I would be doing a factory reset at this time.

You should open a ticket with UDI. I am sure they can give you better guidance in this matter.

ok I am game for a factory reset.

can anybody point me to the step by step instructions on how to do that?

thanks

Contacting support is the best idea but you might first try plugging ISY directly into the router (maybe replace the cable too.)

Here's a link to the manual.. appendix B

994i User Guide

If there is suspicion that the device has a static IP that's not valid for the current network, you can always connect the USB port to a computer and use a serial terminal to access the console. From there, you should be able to find the current network settings (IP), and change the device from static to dhcp if necessary.
