Changing 6 button to 8 button

Can a 6 button Keypad Dimmer be changed to an 8 button Keypad Dimmer?  Or, can ONLY a KeypadLInk (switch, no dimmer) undergo the 6/8 button transformation?

I know an 8 button Keypad dimmer is sold.  But, if I can convert an existing 6 button dimmer it would be easier.

Thanks.

Yes.  A 6 button dimmer can be configured as 8 button and visa versa.   It has to be done manually using procedure in KPL User Guide.  If currently defined to the ISY, delete the KPL, change the button configuration and add the KPL back.

Using the six button face plate with a KPL in 8-button mode results in a five device Keypad (link A & B and G & H) B)

i've converted several using this trick (after stusviews mentioned this in an earlier thread) -- very nice, and more intuitive to use.  I use the bottom double button as an "all off", and control the main lighting for the area in question from the top double button.  Definite improvement in the WAF.

By using combinations of large and small buttons, I've made 3, 4, 6, and 7 device KPLs.

BTW, I actually mean 6-device, not 5-device in my previous post
