Have you ensured that the opposite legs of the split, single-phase electric supply are bridged using the 4-tap/beacon test?

Posted

The trace indicates very poor communications as you have zero hops left.

It's plugged into the same exact spot as the ISY PLM, There are no hops from there.  Hence the problem.  It beeps, tosses an error..

Failed to add device, reason 3 <<--  Reason 3 = lack of communication

37 10 77  <<-- Are you certain this is the right address?  How did you go about adding it?  New Insteon Device or Advanced Options?

1. What is the ISY firmware & UI as stated in the Help -> About? Both should be the same and if not please ensure you clear the Java Cache and download and use the correct Admin Console for the firmware you're using.

2. Hard reset the On-Off Relay module per the full users manual.

3. Once step two is done you can try the Start Linking option. Select the *Start Linking* two whirling arrows in the Admin Console. Next press and hold the set button on the Insteon device until it it beeps and starts flashing the LED. Afterwards select option 1 to delete all existing links and press finish.

While you do so set the level 3 error logs to record the actions and provide them here.

Admin console and ISY version both at 4.3.26

Hard reset completed, long beep obtained

That worked much better, thank you Teken.

Good to see it worked out in the end.

I'm not sure why sometimes this process is required to enroll a new device? But, I've found in different installations this method is required which doesn't offer much insight besides that it works.

Question

Does anyone know the difference between INSTEON 2635-222 and Smarthome INSTEON 2635-232?

For difference in price I wounded how compatible these two devices are when use with UD. Or is this just a legal issue?

Thanks in advance for any information

Are you referencing the International products or a vendor product? If its a International product it uses a different frequency which isn't compatible with NA products.

If your talking about a vendor product say like for Walmart, Best Buys, Costco, these products are the retail product number which is compatible so long as your buying it from NA region.

Thanks for the responce, now one question is now two.

I miss spoke about the compatibility above. The question should read what the difference between SmartHome INSTEON 2635-222 and SmartLab INSTEON 2635-232.

Both are sold in the US and most likely manufactured in china. I guest the question is more about the dash numbers 222 vers 232..

What's the difference?

Please expand the code "NA region" you referred to in your response above.  I assume it stands for North America (NA) but just in case please verify.

again in advance thanks for any information.

NA is indeed North America - Many *Retail* packages for Best Buys, Walmart, Costco, etc are provided a different product number and it can end in 232 to denote its a retail package.

If you find it cheaper from another on line vendor more power to you!
