iMeter Solo Negative Vales

I have been using 3 different iMeter (2423A1) for some time and it has been working well with ISY 994i/IR. I have a program set to query the iMeters every 15 minutes so that the log files are capturing the accumulated power over the day. I export the log every few months and complete an analysis of the power consumption per device I am monitoring. I am looking for long trend lines on power usage for my media center, deep freeze, home server, etc. All has been working great until a few months ago one of the iMeter (v.87) started to report negative values for current state and the accumulated power was some huge number. I have reset the device and even changed what is plugged into it. But, I am still getting negative values reported. The two other iMeter (v.00) and are continuing to report correctly.  I have added in a fourth iMeter (v.30) and it is also working correctly.

Do I have a dead iMeter or is there a new issue with v.87. My ISY is at 4.3.26 and I am not sure if this issue with the iMeter was a result of an upgrade to this release last fall.

Thanks

Peter

Peter,

It does sound like the device has gone bad. I know you reset the device but try again then delete it and add it back and report back.

I have one that did the same thing.  I never did figure out why and have just ignored it for the past couple of years.

But is the value correct and simply indicating a negative value? Meaning if that light bulb is 100 watts the system is displaying -100 watts, correct?

I don't think so. I had a computer attached and it always read -19w. I think it's still doing that, I haven't looked in quite a while.

For the one I have it is always reporting the same negative value, regardless of what I have plugged into it.

Also of note, before I reset the device is was reporting some crazy large value like 5678000 (or something) for the accumulated power.

Now the accumulated power is reporting zero and it never changes.

In fact accumulated power is I am most interested in tracking.

I guess I will check chalk this one up as broken.

Thanks

Hello Peter,

If this device is like many other Insteon products should you feel so inclined perhaps try and replace a few of the capacitors with in the unit.

A few $0.50 parts may very well restore the device if not send it my way.
