SteveSBE Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 This question has to do with a problem I observed with a 2476D SwitchLinc Dimmer W/Beeper v.40. It was continuously writing as I observed it on the Administration Console. I monitored with the Event Monitor using level 3. Below is some of the monitor's text in which it gave the following "Failed Writing" error: Sun 01/10/2016 06:49:14 AM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 1B AB AF 0F 28 0F Sun 01/10/2016 06:49:14 AM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 1B.AB.AF 0F 28 0F 06 SET-MSB(0F) Sun 01/10/2016 06:49:18 AM : [1B AB AF 1 ] Link 8 : 0FB8 [A22D1E49614C1E01] *Failed Writing [............1E..] Sun 01/10/2016 06:50:02 AM : [1B AB AF 1 ] Link 8 : 0FB8 [A22D1E49614C1E01] Writing [............1E..] Sun 01/10/2016 06:50:02 AM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 1B AB AF 0F 28 0F Sun 01/10/2016 06:50:02 AM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 1B.AB.AF 0F 28 0F 06 SET-MSB(0F) Sun 01/10/2016 06:50:11 AM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 1B AB AF 0F 28 0F Sun 01/10/2016 06:50:11 AM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 1B.AB.AF 0F 28 0F 06 SET-MSB(0F) Sun 01/10/2016 06:50:20 AM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 1B AB AF 0F 28 0F Sun 01/10/2016 06:50:20 AM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 1B.AB.AF 0F 28 0F 06 SET-MSB(0F) Sun 01/10/2016 06:50:24 AM : [1B AB AF 1 ] Link 8 : 0FB8 [A22D1E49614C1E01] *Failed Writing [............1E..] I then checked the SwitchLinc's device links table and it would not respond with any links. See Image 1 or http://screencast.com/t/mWx8GPcTfK Figuring this was an unsolvable issue I decided to delete and re-add the SwitchLinc. The delete went find but when I tried to re-add it. It produced another "Failed Writing" error: See Image 2 or http://screencast.com/t/nCGzX0OKU1IB I even did a factory re-set on the SwitchLinc and tried to re-add it but got the same error. The last time I tried it I got the following error: See Image 3 or http://screencast.com/t/qNlEAbsw Can I assume this device is toast? If not, what else could I try? Thanks, Steve
LeeG Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Would need to see Event Viewer at LEVEL 3 of each failure to be sure. The posted trace shows no device response to the four attempts to get a Set-MSB command to respond. I would put device on extension cord and plug into PLM location and event trace trying to add device. Posted trace could indicate a comm issue or a failed device.
