someguy Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 I recently installed two GFCI breakers, each controlling an insteon device. Prior to installation, the insteon devices worked fine. After installation, they are not reliable. I've had to send an ON command to them multiple times to get them to turn on. Also, interestingly, when I try to turn them off they will provide a status of "OFF" when they are still on. Is there any easy solution for this? I'm using these GFCI breakers to protect these circuits because they run power outside for Landscape Lighting and Xmas lights.
Sub-Routine Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 It could be the GFI though most experiences I have read about report no problems. Rand
Brian H Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I have seen reports of some brand GFI and Arc Breaker devices killing X10 signals. Insteon; though more rugged; may also be effected as the power line frequency isn't that far away from X10s.
Stowaway Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Gents - I did experience some comm issues with some devices on a GFI protected circuit. It was not consistant and it was with one of the earlier releases of the ISY operating system. I am no longer having these problems....
