Programs fail to trigger

EDIT: Workaround in post #3 below.

I have been having difficulty getting my RemoteLinc 2 to trigger programs.

The below screenshot is for a program that should send a network resource anytime a Keypadlinc or RemoteLinc button is pressed. These two buttons are also in a scene and consistently trigger the scene; however, the program never runs.

I'm using ISY 4.4.3. Any thoughts on troubleshooting?

ASIDE: I trigger a program with the G button of the RemoteLinc, and couldn't get that to work either until I added that button to a scene. The scene that it's in contains no other devices, but when I added the G button the associated program started to trigger as expected. Don't know if this is pertinent, but appreciate any thoughts on this as well.

One more bit of data: Level 3 event viewer shows no activity for H button on or off from RemoteLinc. G button (the one that wouldn't trigger a program until I put it in a scene) shows the following:

Last reply to my own thread:

I've found a workaround, but am still mystified by this behavior. The programs will trigger if and only if the RemoteLinc 2 button is in a scene by itself or with other RemoteLinc buttons only. I removed the KPL H button from the scene that it and the RL button were in, and the programs immediately began to trigger on RL button press.

I have my workaround, but if anyone has insight into why I'm seeing this behavior I'd love to hear it.

It makes no difference if the button is in a scene or not it should be able to trigger a program.

Jon...

Totally agree. However, changing scene composition definitely made the problem programs start triggering. It's a mystery.

Curious then what version of UI you're using?  Help > About in admin console, firmware and UI version should be the same.

Jon...

Both UI and firmware are v4.4.3.

I did try several variations of if condition, including "and not switched on," but the programs never triggered until I stumbled upon the scene thing.

Could it be that the secondary button nodes don't have link records back to the PLM until they are in a scene? Maybe only the primary node is linked by default...

Even a scene with one device adds a scene link so the PLM is notified. I'm thinking that without being in a scene secondary buttons likely won't report anything to the PLM.

All KPL buttons, primary and all secondary buttons are linked back to the PLM when the KPL is added to the ISY.  If a Secondary button does not appear in an Event Viewer trace at LEVEL 3, either the KPL or PLM have lost the link or a comm issue exists.

Image attached is KPL with no additional Scenes.  All 8 buttons have links to PLM.
